Re: spaceball 5000 mouse usb

Hi Plugged in the Spaceball 5000 usb. ... Windows installed it. Tried to customise it (in FreeCAD) ... had to slow down all the movements, and UN-enable the top ( SpaceNavigator ) movements. Could not change any button settings, none were enabled. Is this correct ? I've got the following settings a...

Re: spaceball 5000 mouse usb

I've got a spaceball 5000 USB attached. It's just working, no need to install drivers or anything (on windows). You can install the 3dconnexion drivers, but have to search for an old driver that still supports your device. It's nice to use it in google earth that way, but FreeCAD works without. In L...

Re: System requirements

Actually modelling and displaying the thread on a bolt or nut is very demanding for the computer, as has been stated before. It should be done only if really needed, e.g. for 3D printing it. Some small benchmarks for reference: On my Notebook with core i5 CPU 480M (max. 3GHz), creating a screw ISO 4...

Re: System requirements

Hi, the performance of Freecad on my machine is a little bit slow, but when I edit threads I have to wait several minutes before I can go on. That means I have to wait when I enter a value, but also another few minutes when I press OK. Can I boost the performance by adding more RAM (I have 2G now)?...

Thank you. Will download and test tomorrow.

Did you include the current version from the website you linked yesterday, or do I have to install that one still?

ccx.exe missing

Hi all, I've been trying to get into testing FEM and wanted to use a fairly recent dev version, so installed the 64-bit version from June 4th, 2015 from sourceforge. As has been discussed earlier (http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7717&p=82719#p82745), ccx.exe was missing in the archiv...

Re: 3D Printer Parts

Aluminium profiles should be available everywhere, even in South Korea. Perhaps not in the next retail store, but surely online, e.g. http://korea.tradekey.com/aluminium-extrusion-profile.htm That's the first non-alibaba result from a google search for "aluminium profile supplier South Korea" :-) Th...

Re: How to unbend (flatten) a part for sheet manufacturing

So I shuold not take into account compression and tencion during the blending? If you like and want, you can, but normally it's not necessary. I normally leave such to the specialists at the manufacturer. They know their machines and material and employ specialized software that performs those calc...

Re: Freecad locls up on invocation

System settings says it's 1920x1080. I'm not so sure about that for various reasons, but that's what it says. That should be big enough. I can't reproduce the misbehaviour in the VM currently, FC starts just fine in a workspace of 842x676. That's inside a VMware player in windowed mode on my Window...
