Re: FreeCAD and Raspberry Pi 4

Hi all. I have installed FreeCAD on my Raspberry pi 4 following these instructions: https://www.framboise314.fr/utiliser-freecad-et-cura-sur-un-raspberry-pi-4/?fbclid=IwAR0Kh6aLHre3wdpSlTd55Ys0k_9j-j6HHJUHA-7lVMrAUHYuQGTSD63Ac1s FreeCAD works great on my Rpi, however, I cannot add any new workbench....

Re: FreeCAD and Raspberry Pi 4

I compiled FreeCAD 0.18 on a Rpi 4 following this: https://www.framboise314.fr/utiliser-freecad-et-cura-sur-un-raspberry-pi-4/?fbclid=IwAR0Kh6aLHre3wdpSlTd55Ys0k_9j-j6HHJUHA-7lVMrAUHYuQGTSD63Ac1s Took like 2 hours, but now it runs well. Still have to test it properly though, but it seems that it wor...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Pd. Does anyone have any idea on how to install/compile? MBDyn under Windows? Not sure if not being able to execute it in Windows will be a limitation? I do not have any issue working only with Linux, but this may reduce the number of people using/interested on the workbench, no?

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Hi José and everyone, I read this whole thread and found some quite interesting discussions. I've been involved with the development of MBDyn and was responsible for the team's participation in GSoC. We do have another MBDyn pre/postprocessor addon for FreeCAD, but it needs improvement. Because of ...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Another quick question. Is there any method that gets executed when the user clicks (single click) on a given object in the tree view? What I want to achieve: When the user clicks on an object, some other objects in the 3D scene get highlighted. Is this possible?

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Yes, you are right, I think I need a bit more planning and less coding haha. Great advice, thanks!

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Hi. Every time I make a change to the code, to test if it works as intended, I have to close FreeCAD and open it again, so that it "loads" the module with the changes... This is making me loose too much time. Is there a way to avoid this? Like forcing FreeCAD to load the module without closing it an...

Re: Multi Body Dynamics with FreeCAD + MBDyn

See how to define joints and constraints in ANSYS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HixzW8eFGs They also use those cylinders to represent the joints, and it also seems the bodies "crash", but the cylinders are only the joints for the MBD simulation, not part of the assembly. The same for the workben...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Will the recompute make any difference for a simple (non-parametric) object? To my understanding you recompute a parametric object every time one of it's parameters changes, so that the final object is actually affected by the parameter change. If the objects are non-parametric, as they are in my MB...
