Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Testing the constraints so far added: revolute hige, revolute pin, in-line, clamp, prismatic, and axial rotation... Seems all work well. I'll do a couple more examples and then I'll include a few more joints and constraints. This is getting really fun, enjoy this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dW...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

I actually think that MBDyn can do as the definitive asembly workbench for FreeCAD. As you can see in my videos, the parts move perfectly because MBDyn takes care of the assembly, it looks for all the constraints and everything. I'm quite existed about this. Yes, lately I was actually thinking abou...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Made some more progress today... fixing errors in the code, a bit more complicated simulations start to be really fun: Very nice indeed! Two questions... Is it already possible, or do you see that it could be possible in the future, to solve with this such examples as freecad-heini-1 has asked for ...

Made some more progress today... fixing errors in the code, a bit more complicated simulations start to be really fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyUkuVBGgyU&t=315s :D You still haven't made this public, right? My advice is to use dedicated icons for your scripted objects (those that appear on...

Simulating the tennis racket theorem with MBDyn + FreeCAD :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On72bODILlA&feature=youtu.be Here's a video explaining this behavior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VPfZ_XzisU And the original MBDyn exercise: https://www.sky-engin.jp/en/MBDynTutorial/chap09/chap09.html...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Hi. Couple of questions: When the user changes a property of a scripted object, the "onChanged" method gets executed. Is there a way to change the values of other properties of the same object, from within the "onChanged" method? I want the "onChanged" to do some calculations using the value of the ...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Made some progress with my animation algorithm.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCpwAwY_Xkk In a similar way as the reaction forces, I'd lice to animate the reaction torque over the joints. MBDyn gives the torque too, but i don't have many ideas on how to animate a torque. Forces are simple. Leng...

Here's another video, with the reaction force vector and the data plotted for both, the nodes (bodies) and the joints:

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Hi all. Solved the problem of calculating moments of inertia for complex bodies!! Now simulations can be done with any body/assembly. Have a look at my first try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN07ZRmLbvw&feature=youtu.be I know you've told me to have a loon at other workbenches, but I don't get t...
