Is Python 3.* available with FreeCAD?

Can the default Python 2.7 be changed to 3.5 or latest. I know Python 3 and did not think anyone even used 2.* anymore. Python 3 is better and twice as fast.

Orientation of a normal or perpendicular to a point on line in 3D

There are an infinite number of lines that will form perpendiculars at a point on another line. What I need is a fast way to place a perpendicular line with a certain orientation at a point on another line. How can I do this?

Re: Finding common normal between two skewed lines??

Thanks Chris. Just one issue, on mine i needed to use Part.show(Part.Line(dts[0], dts[1]).toShape()) The 'module' object has no attribute 'LineSegment' Now that I have a common normal segment C, is there a quick way to rotate it some angle A around the other line and then slide it a certain distance...

Finding common normal between two skewed lines??

Is there a tool or quick way to find the common normal line segment between two skewed lines (in 3d-space of course). In other words, given two skewed lines (possibly specified by two point for each line) then find a third line that perpendicularly intersects the other two. Is there a tool for this ...

Re: Best way to convert line drawing image to Freecad file

Yes it is about Halphen's proof on finding the resultant of two screw displacements which is another screw displacement. I would like to reproduce the picture as a start because that would help me learn to use Freecad. But I would need to change the figures later because of copyright and to break it...

Re: Best way to convert line drawing image to Freecad file

My bad. I did not mean convert but should have wrote create. I was thinking of specifying shapes with coordinates and other domensions in a file that Freecad could read as opposed to the GUI. I do not know if this would be the easiest way to proceed or do what you suggested.

Best way to convert line drawing image to Freecad file

I have an attached image and i would like to know what the easiest way would be to convert it to a 3d freecad file. It consists of a series of reflections and translations of a triangle in 3D space. If you know screw theory and Halphen's composition of screw displacements then you will understand wh...
