Assembly2_refuses "3rd" constraint..? and Parts go up in smoke?

What the .... is happening? Like the title describes actually... There must be something wrong but what? Create contraints 1 and 2 between two parts, all angles are definately perpendicular, but nr 3 will not happen... Then removed contraint 2; create contraint nr 3; works. But adding then nr2; no w...

Hi tomerp,

Maybe because you are not working with the Assembly2 workbench active at the moment of request. Because then it will not appear...

Re: FreeCAD sluggish using Assembly2

Without seeing an image or a file i can only guess. Did you click on Solve constraints after you added one (or turn Auto recompute to on)? Yes I did... Let me show my approach: Using: 1st PlaneAlignement and 2nd PlaneAlignement http://i66.tinypic.com/2jdfcl5.jpg Solve costraints -> "Failed to solve...

Re: FreeCAD sluggish using Assembly2

Hi Triplus, thanks for answering. I'll try to explain a bit more with screen captures: - I made 2 parts (both cubes) and saved them: Mabel and Claudia. - Then I saved an assembly: Alltogether. I have placed Mabel and Claudia in the assembly and saved it: http://i66.tinypic.com/bidkj.jpg So, no "Mabe...

Re: FreeCAD sluggish using Assembly2

Create 3 files and save them on the same location. In two create some geometry like Part cube. In third one create Assembly feature. All files should be opened in FreeCAD and saved. After just drag and drop the cubes (tree view) in Assembly and that is that. I have created a cube (called it 'Claudi...

Re: FreeCAD sluggish using Assembly2

Hi Triplus, Thanks for your reply. 1.) Reduce the complexity of assembly by using sub-assembly approach: I already did this. Try out Assembly 3 and see how it works with your assembly. I have copied all parts to local disc. I have Assembly3 up and running, but I immediately get stuck... When I check...

Tip: Std ViewScreenShot linked to another program

Hello developers, I am talking about this: Tools > Save picture... Std ViewScreenShot It is a nice tool which maybe could be tweaked a little? I am not much of a programmer myself, unfortunately. But maybe someone in the community finds this interesting enough to adapt? What I mean: The possibility ...

Re: FreeCAD sluggish using Assembly2

What exactly is slow. Assembly 2 solver or updating parts when changing parameters or Updating parts / adding, adapting or solving constraints. These result in a FreeCAD (not responding) for about 10sec. During the day I get the feeling that more time is used, but I am not 100% sure. 10sec doesn't ...

Re: Assembly 3 (developers state) install method?

Thanks mate.

Just finished the tutorial. great stuff!

Then I tried to adapt an Assembly which was made with assembly2.

That did not work very well unfortunately. The structure of the combo view of AS3 compared with AS2 is quite different.

Any change in the future that it can be exchanged?

Re: Assembly 3 (developers state) install method?

Thanks sgrogan, It works! BAMMMM! 8-) The whole GUI is also much sharper, great! Depending on 'bugs' ofcourse, I can recommend this to anyone. Now time to start this: https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3/wiki/Common-Operations Only one question remains: where can I find updates? Can I ge...
