Re: Involute Casing Pump (trial) !!

try to make this model HOLLOW from inside You can actually sweep a hollow volute by including the proper sections in the sweep sketches. I.e. you can sweep a hollow tube, for example, by including the inner diameter in the sketch. Try some simpler models before tackling something like a volute. Ple...

Re: CASTING MODEL

...let me know with your comments. I took a cursory look at your model because I am always eager to learn from more experienced users. My background is Unigraphics and FreeCAD since V0.13. If you are truly interested in some constructive feedback I offer the following comments: 1. Overall model str...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

But I think that the UI in the Task panel is more streamlined, and worth this small regression, don't you think also ? Yes, OK by me but takes some time to get use to. Perhaps placing the Edit button next to the Insert button would help. Also, there are several missing fastener types in Assembly4 c...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

How can I maybe just insert it one time and then make a cylindrical array of them? Place one LCS at first location for first body or fastener. You can then use an Array from the Draft workbench as shown in this example: Picture1.png OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD...

an example where something similar might have been done?

I do not know if this is similar but if you can describe how the flexible part changes using constraints in a master sketch
you can animate it with Assembly4.

Re: Can't join manifolds

Things like being able to select specific profiles and/or closed faces on a sketch you want to extrude rather than extruding the entire sketch no matter what's in it. Or being able to click on the sketches in the window instead of selecting them from the list by name. Less janky means that the tool...

Re: Can't join manifolds

- confirmation from other users. Pls. see attached file. You can create a valid solid by sequential lofts in a single body IF the inlet ports have different (ever so slightly) diameters. Coplanar surfaces is a known problem as we all know. Sometimes. It fails thickness, of course. I did not try to ...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench--Arandela Mechanism

Since it seems everyone else in the CAD world has one of these models, I thought we should have one too for FreeCAD. Dimensions for this model were taken from this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98A_8qSqxh8. The model was built using the V0.19 PartDesign workbench and assembled /animated ...

Re: V0.19: Just for fun--Newton's Cradle

Thank you all for the kind comments. Would it be possible to create a very simplified assembly using these principles, and explaining the thought process in the creation, either with text or with a voice-over? What does what and its purpose... I refer you to one of zolko's excellent tutorials: https...

V0.19: Just for fun--Newton's Cradle

If they can do it in Solidworks we can do it in FreeCAD!...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7QLdHGKtOk I thought it would be fun to see if I could simulate Newton's cradle motion with the Assembly4 (V0.9.3) animator. The following screenshots describe the process: Capture.JPG Capture2.JPG newtons_cr...
