Re: Visualisation issues with STEP files

Does anyone can see these files correctly in FreeCAD? The first and second files load and render OK with this version: OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.22130 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: dc65b055e5143a7d7349520da466d4d722df57...

Re: Free video tutorials

Thanks for sharing these many videos showing how to model in FreeCAD. These are especially valuable if you are making a transition from SolidWorks. They are good examples for training and maintaining one's skills in PartDesign. I did not review all the videos, but several. I note that in most, if no...

Re: Assembly3 preview

In autodesk product you can select construction or centre lines can be selected outside of sketch mode. For instance like an axis of revolution for revolve. It saves you to do a revolving axis separate feature. FYI it IS possible to use any construction line in a sketch for a revolve or groove feat...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

I would like to create an axis that would go from one part in model to another part...there is an Axis_1 that I intended to go from Tube001.Edge5 (far end of bottom arm) to Tube002.Edge5 (top mount). But unfortunately I am not able to do this - axle do not go thru end of bottom arm (Link001). Looks...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

a new version (v0.9.11) of the Assembly 4 workbench is out the link placement dialog is vastly improved...and there is now a configuration engine. The combination of the 2 makes it very easy to build exploded assemblies. Thank you for the excellent enhancements. I have already begun using the new v...

Re: V0.19 Top Down Assembly Design Using Assembly4--Update #11 Exploded Views

Zolko recently added a couple of enhancements in Assembly4 V0.9.11 that nicely facilitates exploded views so I could not resist adding this image to this thread. The enhancements significantly improve the "move/attach a part in the assembly" dialog. They also allow you to capture spreadsheets of var...

Re: V0.19 Top Down Assembly Design Using Assembly4--Update #10

Do you feel that your current modeling approach is the best for modeling existing parts and making a large number of changes to what we call the master sketch or early created parts? I do think that using a master sketch and carbon copies for each body is a good approach to control design intent an...

Could you if you are agree with that bring some pictures of your great work to the Wikimedia FreeCAD page.
Thank you for your kind comments.
You may use any of the images as you wish but perhaps you may want something a little more modern:

Re: V0.19 Top Down Assembly Design Using Assembly4--Update #10

I'm not sure I'm getting it right, but I think doing this creates cyclic dependencies. Not if you set the variable at the top assembly Model level and use it only in that file for the LCS, body links, and/or sub-assembly link offsets: Capture_tree.JPG . Or, see comment by Zolko: https://forum.freec...
