RESOLVED: Render_Render failed

Hello, I am strugling to get any render to work. I started with Luxrender and then tried POV-RAY, getting similar error... EDIT: I deleted the content of this question and marked this thread as resolved, because once starting the Raytracing WB instead of Render WB, it was easy to follow Yorik's manu...

I am actually curious of how other CAD can handle the subtle problem...
I PMed you a file with screenshots and some info about AutoDesk Invertor assemblies.

If I have enough time tomorrow, I'll get SolidWorks screenshots.

Re: Assembly3 preview

Would you please explain me, how can a constraint be shared? This is where I'm lost completely. I'd start with AssyA constrained to AssyB and there would be a link assembly AssyB' placed in a different possition then AssyB and constraint to AssyA. That's what I understand, you're explaining. How ca...

Re: Assembly3 preview

I'd say it would be very difficult to maintain all that in one file. asm3 supports external file linking. You can open multiple files in FreeCAD, create sub-assembly in those file, and drag them to the main assembly file. A link will be created between the main file and external component file. No ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Oh, I made a mistake under the impression of your tree. What I really meant is this: ProposalCorrected.png I mean that I have never edited subassembly from within an assembly and I think that no existing CAE can even do that. In-assembly editing (i.e available in SollidEdge and I think SolidWorks to...

Re: Assembly3 preview

That is not the case in asm3. The following picture show that Assembly001 has three parts. Cube001 is simply added as it is, no extra container for it. The second part, Assembly, is also added as it is, and it happens to be a sub-assembly. The third part, Link_Assembly, is linked to Assembly, or, w...

Re: Assembly3 preview

That will require yet another container for each part added to the assembly, further complicate the hierarchy, especially if there are nested assemblies. How would you like to be able to expand the element item of the constraint to reveal its owner part? Will that make the relationship easier to se...

Re: Assembly3 preview

It just occurred to me that I forgot to mention an easy solution that is working in my current release. Select any assembly you want to export to TechDraw, change the property 'BuildShape' to 'Compound'. That's it. Now the assembly will dynamically build a compound shape very time it is recomputed....

Re: Assembly3 preview

This sounds like a bug. It would be better if you can post a file to demonstrate the problem. And maybe some screencast to show your steps. I will try to test it more and give some feedback. You have probably noticed, that in the meanwhile user jpg87 experienced the very same thing... 2. Positionin...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Once again, Realthnder and the comunity, congratulations to the progress! It's a much better experience, testing assemblies, compared to 3-4 months ago. I tested few assemblies in the new releases and have some feedback bellow. Following points of possible improvements are not criticism, I would lik...
