Re: Assembly3 preview

That's a great help, such an animation, thank you. This setup works well, no problem what so ever, I was also able to fully constrain just using PlaneCoincidence and PointOnPoint constraints - at least apparently, I couldn't move them with MovePart command in ASM3 toolbar. ASM3_005.PNG But I was won...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Only setting the angle values does nothing. You have to change the LockAngle option to true. Oh, it's working now. I figured that out, but I probably had there another constraint, because it wasn't working before. There is a bug in angle options in the master. Angle 0 is going to give you some trou...

Re: Assembly3 preview

@Realthunder: Congratulations with the progress. Is it possible to constrain two parts using planes ? (with your 0.17 snapshot) ASM3_001.PNG I tried two basic cubes and it works with first planar face-to-face alignment (PlaneCoincident). ASM3_002.PNG But any other alignment results in error message:...

Re: Assembly3 (FreeCAD-asm3-Win64)

Have you looked at the asm3 release page?
Oh, flip! I knew this page existed, I just didn't know how to navigate there from hte Realthunder/Assembly3 title page. It's that tiny icon "2 releases" :-)

Thank you, I'll check my version against this and against the latest commits.

Re: Assembly3 (FreeCAD-asm3-Win64)

Oh, I thought this thread died with a first reply. I was about to expand the 21-pages thread (yes, it seems to be a bit long, it took me a week of spare time to read it  ). This is not a correct place to suggest it, but I think that a separate forum Board for Assembly3 would be appropriate. Re...

Assembly3 (FreeCAD-asm3-Win64)

Hello, I am testing FreeCAD-asm3-20180205-f405cbcf-f07c01c-Win64 , I tried to asseemble couple of my parts using Assembly 3 WB and then tried to follow this tutorial ( https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3/wiki/Common-Operations ) to the point. In all cases, applied constraints seem to be...

Re: Assembly 2 - prevent broken constraints and/or resurect them

https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Arch_Structure Another interesting workbench. This alone will not do the job I need, but maybe I can test cooperation between Part Design and workbenches such as Timber Frames or Arch Structural... I didn't realized prior this thread, that the WBs could be combined t...

Re: Assembly 2 - prevent broken constraints and/or resurect them

That Plane relation in Assembly 3 is a tricky one indeed. I tend to avoid it for now. Hopefully it will improve a bit over time. Create Assembly feature and drag and drop two Part cubes in it. Select two points on Cubes edges and add PointCoincidence relation. If you have Auto recompute set to ON i...

Re: Assembly 2 - prevent broken constraints and/or resurect them

Changing constraint value is in general OK. Going back in design history to add an additional pocket changes topology. Assembly relations fur such part therefore will likely need to be redefined after. That is correct yes. Note that once FreeCAD will have some (history based) topology/geometry solu...

Re: Assembly 2 - prevent broken constraints and/or resurect them

Please have a look at Assembly 3 dev branch, this would probably cover your needs... I did have a look, but it doesn't work at all, or I don't use it correctly. When I apply "Plane alignment" constraint, I can see new entries in the new Assembly tree within "Constraints" and "Elements" nodes, but t...
