Re: Fillet crash FC daily

Thanks ChrisB,
yeah I guess using refine on the last step if necessary kind of makes sense. First bug submitted ;)
(hopefully i followed all rules :? )
Cheers

Re: Placement using spreadsheet values...

Dap, You file is not crashing FC for me, so maybe it's a windows? On side note, thanks for sharing that phone holder shape, I recently tried to reproduce it myself with revolutions and symmetries, it was a good exercise :D https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28202 Cheers ==== OS: Window...

Re: Fillet crash FC daily

Thanks Chrisb for the solution i'll keep that in mind if I encounter similar situation,
As follow-up
1/ should I open a tracker issue?
2/ Should body have a global refine option instead of individual features? (feature request?)

Thanks
Cheers

Ticket #3436 - Fillet crash FC daily

Good day, I'm trying to reproduce a model seen in the forum (could not find original author for link), and finally got it to be fully parametric so that's good :) As a final touch i was trying to apply fillet on some of the edges and some of them (see pict) just instant crash FC  Can anyone r...

Re: Part-design mirror of mirrored feature not possible?

Thanks ppemawm and chrisb, multi-transform does work beautifully.
I'll mark as resolve!

[solved]Part-design mirror of mirrored feature not possible?

Good day, i was trying to reproduce some geometry from another post to see if i could model it and the shape was calling for a double symmetry. But it seems that you cannot mirror in part design WB an already "mirrored feature"? I had to use the mirror in the part WB to do it but it feels a bit brok...

Re: Polar pattern bug for angles < 360°

You can also do it using a polar pattern angle formula like:
Sketch.Constraints.a * (PolarPattern.Occurrences - 1)
Where "a" is the slice angle name, then changing the number of occurrences does compute the right angle directly.

Re: Polar pattern bug for angles < 360°

Mithrandil,
this is the classical poles & space problem, you only need 3 angles of 45 to pack the 4 slices in 180, so your angle should be 135degrees.

I'm naturally drawn to FreeCAD as a way to explore how computational graphics ... I have the same ambition as you on the long term, as I'm slowly trying to get familiar with FC to design a mechanical clock my developer instinct is kicking in when i see that some feature could be easier if only I wa...

Re: Need basic sketcher help, copying or duplicating shapes

You can also use the symmetry tool on the vertical/horizontal axis, but as Willem mentioned you would still have to apply equal constraints to the radius, borders and tangent constraints to the end segments to lock everything in place. symetry.png It's a too bad there are no "symmetry clone" tools t...
