Re: Mending half circle to half elipsoid
You can do sketches quick and dirty and then grab every line and make sure it connects. You must keep a closed shape. Post something if you get stuck.

Re: Question about Sketcher attachment
My thoughts on the two buttons has basis in design of the program. We want to know the users intention; are they wanting to attach a sketch to a face so you can pop a hole in it or are they creating a sketch that might turn into a post next to the face (you selected). It has a lot to do with attachm...

Re: Creating internal splines - broaching
I would model it with all the correct dimensions then have it printed on a SLA kind of printer, these printers can hold a couple thou. How would you go about modelling these splines to ensure a good fit on the mating shaft?

Question about Sketcher attachment
Since abdullah is around, could I get some info. In sketcher, is the program aware if a sketch/line generated feature has a sketch attached to it? In other words, a specific line I have drawn gets padded and turns into a feature face, next I attach a new sketch to that face. Does Sketcher have that ...

Re: Discussion of constrained geometry flipping or changing unexpectedtly
I think perpendicular can allow a 180 degree flip, but parallel can't be true for a crossing.chennes » Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:55 am
I don't see how the criss-crossed result is actually a valid solution, given the perpendicular constraint. What am I missing?

Re: Daggy problem
To describe the scenario. Once OCC renumbers everything and hands it all back to FreeCAD there can be an incorrect attachment to a face (topo-naming error). If the renumbering works out badly and a sketch is attached to it's own face, well how can that be right. That's the error.... You can go to th...

Re: Solver causes parts to be re-orientated and rotated
There are issues using CAD software where almost everything is in some kind of development mode. I think that's where Assembly 4 shines, you end up being the solver by placing points of interest. This concept should be more robust.
