Is there an offset command for a shapebinder?

My goal would be to draw a complex 2D shape, make it solid and make a cover that just slides over it. So, a shapebinder and then some way to offset the shape. I searched and many folks said they would like to see that but I never found an answer. I see an offset in Draft but I can't get to do a comp...

Re: Trimming an arc

Nyanko-sensei, could you document your units settings.

Edit->preferences->units-> "system and decimal"

Thanks

Re: Moving stuff in the tree

I think of the Part container as the poor man's assembly container. That's exactly the way I use it, maybe there's another way. I have a plastic part mold that can have different inserts installed before a run. I modeled the basic mold as a part and then modeled the inserts as separate parts. When ...

Re: access violation at address 0xFFFFFFFFFFF during 'read' operation

The moderators can chime in here and tell me if they would rather I don't say this to other users; If you are an experienced user I would use the latest and most current version (under development), it is somewhere around 18. 1xxxx. I say this because I use it most everyday and I find it very stable...

Re: FrreeCAD Tutorial

Can the tutorials be listed (maybe by option) by date created or even posted?
There is certainly a better chance that new Freecad versions are being used with more current dates. I don't know squat about the wiki, do they control this or is there some access?

Re: I always have to redo my designs. What am I doing wrong?

Once the circular wedge is drawn make a datum plane (on the leading edge) and build the donut off the backside of the plane.

Re: I always have to redo my designs. What am I doing wrong?

Here is what I do, but just by experimentation. Once I create a second body I do a copy and paste of the second body into the first body. All this is done in the tree and the first body must be active part focus. I have been messing around with tree copy and paste to keep my part all in one body. I ...

Re: Pull down menu question

Isn't this a bug. If I use "V,3","V,4" when I'm in sketch mode it does one thing, if I use it in Part design it does something else?

My mouse macro hates this, Obviously the "V" is being ignored in Sketch.

This is one of those "V" isn't a control character.

Re: FrreeCAD Tutorial

When I first started looking at Freecad I went to Youtube. It didn't take very long to realize that I was using .17 late and now .18 and most of the documentation was much older. It didn't take long to get bored because I couldn't really watch what there were doing because I was sure it would change...
