Re: Messing around with the topo-naming issue

chrisb, Oh! I see, that is part of the list issue, I need to exclude all face attachments of the feature that I am creating. Da! :) I will need to recreate the list on every recompute because face numbers are all over the place in a broken model. Thanks. So far I have been able to fix models by sele...

Re: Suggestions for cutting part in half and remove extra material at same time

If you need to add or subtract a little then you can do a pocket and cut off as much as you need. In the pic I didn't cut all the way thru just to show you. What ever is left over can be printed and reverse the cut for the other half. This was done in PartDesign.

Re: Messing around with the topo-naming issue

chrisb, You have a dependency cycle: I could also see a dependency error. Is there some way FreeCAD can handle this kind of error so the dependency can be broken because being stuck and having to delete something doesn't seem right. Should there really be a .cpp error for this condition? In my macr...

Re: Messing around with the topo-naming issue

Second post, there is a previous post answering comments. Can anyone tell me why this model won't recompute? To be fair I have remapped the sketches many different times but I still don't get why it won't recompute without an error, and the error is cpp. All of the mappings look correct. I have seen...

Re: How to offset a B-spline in Sketcher WB?

Would the offset be correct without the constraints?

Re: New macro, Vision1, check it out

Here is a version for testing, on my laptop this is a nice width but kind of tall, it does not work correctly with FreeCAD stylesheets. It also seems to be 50/50 on docking, it works on my desktop but not on my laptop. If a few buttons are off color, well I'm not sure about that right now, but every...

Re: Messing around with the topo-naming issue

Thanks onekk, I have been looking for that "dir" statement. I should have been a bit more clear on my use, it was late. My plan: In each sketch store a copy of placement ( I update placement at some point) and the Label of the feature the sketch is connected to. I understand the renumbering of faces...

Re: New macro, Vision1, check it out

If you can give me some feedback I will try to size the icons for a Mac. I presume Vision5 will look funny also. It appears there is some minimum width required but I don't have a Mac for testing. :)

Re: Messing around with the topo-naming issue

I'm using this code to find all numbered faces and the output is shown below. Does anyone know a way to isolate the feature associated with each face. What I would like to see is: "Face3, Pad001".... something like that but everything is relative to the last feature. I understand that as I enumerate...

Question: How does sketcher hand off a sketch to OCC

My question is based from some testing I was doing, mostly targeting model building stability and the topo naming issue. Here are the two test cases: 1) I sketched a plate and in the sketch put 3 holes in the plate (all in one sketch) then padded the sketch. 2) I sketched the plate (no holes) then p...
