Re: New User: Can Freecad be used as a standalone 2D Cad program?

This can be 2 questions. 1) Can Freecad be used to design a bunch of 2D parts and fit them together, then break them into multiple drawings, like Autocad? or 2) Can Freecad be used to make simple flat part assemblies? Answer to #1) I would not use FreeCad to design a system with a bunch of 2D parts ...

Re: getting started

Does your screen look like this? I would use Youtube and search for videos. Use "FreeCad tutorial" for search words. Watch about 5 or 6 of these and come back to ask a question. This is tough stuff to learn, expect to work hard. I only say this to get you going as fast as possible. Also, here is my ...

Re: Access to information outside of a body [Part Design / Sketcher]

Re: WARNING: Flurry of questions about to ensue...

I felt bad when I started so I try to help out some by answering questions if I can. I think just about ev...

Re: Add slots/tabs to parts

You can post your file but I get it, the Green part is a pad off of the yellow part. I would click on the face of the Green part and create a Datum plane, then sketch on the plane your tabs, pad those. You could do the same to Yellow parts and pocket where the tabs are. I'm not really sure what conn...

Re: Assembly 3 find inconsistent constraint

This should be moved to the Assembly Forum. Realthunder will answer questions there I know, not sure about in Help.
