Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

try OK. I tried. I opened a new sketch and inserted a rectangle. Clicking on the root point first didn't work. I then tried the other 3 points. They worked. If I wasn't specifically trying to test the point selection method I would have assumed that that wouldn't work after failing on the root poin...

Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

http://en.zimagez.com/miniature/part007pocket.jpg http://en.zimagez.com/miniature/part007constrained.jpg I finally got a fully constrained figure. I know that open figures or overlaps will prevent a proper pad or pocket. I also checked for duplicate objects. There are none. What's happening here? P...

Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

So just to make sure I understand, it is then possible to insert a fillet by clicking on the vertex of 2 lines, and not necessarily the two lines themselves?

Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

Thanks logari.
When I insert a fillet, from where does the tool derive it's radius value?

Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

Thanks again. That works. But WOW, what a lot of work. I don't know if someone is working on a way to make it not do this but it wouldn't be real easy. I would think that the system knows all of the parameters of all of the items (points, wires, etc.) so why couldn't the algorithm find the 2 ends of...

Re: Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. And also I really miss a dialogue box for inputting the radius of the fillet.

Fillet tool in sketcher destroys constraints.

Looking at the two screenshots, you will see that the fillet tool is destroying previously set constraints. Is this normal operation, a bug or is the fillet tool still a WIP? If it is possible to insert fillets in a sketch and still maintain constraints on the associated lines, how do I do that? Tha...

Re: involute gear generator preview

OpenSource software is, or should be, driven by the community. From what I have seen in this forum, there is more interest in 3D printing than CNC machining. Of course, I haven't read the entire thing yet. Working on that. Honestly, please point me in the software anything that screams it's designed...

Re: involute gear generator preview

Hey we're just having a harmless discussion. That's what online forums are all about. My last post wasn't directed at you, nor anyone in particular. And I apologize to all contributors in this thread. I now realize what has been bothering me. I was really hoping that FreeCAD would truly be a useful...
