Re: Invalid A2+-assembly of valid objects

I may be on to something. Fixing the tolerances in the parts, turning the shells into solids and fusing the result gives something that passes Check Geometry without a peep. Not sure if this is a general solution yet, but it looks promising. Hi wandererfan, thank you for your proposal. I think it i...

Where is that button? (A2+ v0.4.26a)
Hi Roland,
it is the button with the big "X". Normaly it is greyed out. If you select an imported part, it gets red as shown here (most right side):

Re: Invalid A2+-assembly of valid objects

Second issue: Your advice implies to redo many assemblies. During that process A2+ reports that some constraints are no longer valid, or even that the constraint system is inconsistent. Not surprising since the several bodies are entirely replaced by others. The suggestion of A2+ to "remove my last...

Thank you for the link, @wandererfan. I think, these problems are not easy to solve.

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

kbwbe, can-you confirm that this is the current state for A2+ ? Are the A2+ constraints also App::FeaturePython objects ? Do you have suggestions as to what informations a constraint should hold ? Could "we" decide a commun constraint structure that would be compatible with all assembly workbenches...

Re: Invalid A2+-assembly of valid objects

This topic rose from a discussion on TechDraw. There, it was suggested that TechDraw needs "valid" shapes in order to proceed properly. (Hopefully, TechDraw will answer that question.) Hi Roland, at first you should enable the A2p-option "use solid union for importing parts" and redo your assembly ...

After creating a solid using PartDesign WB, I notice I cannot duplicate this object in a2plus WB.
The duplicate function only works for A2plus objects in an assembly file. It is not intended to be used directly within PartDesign.

Re: A2+ Parts where not moved. They are not constrained to a fixed part!

I created a simple example that gives me the same error.Test Assembly2Plus.FCStd A2plus is designed to import parts, each one been designed in a separate file. If you import your single parts into a assemby file, you can apply constraints and this will work. A2plus will not work if you apply constr...

Re: a2plus/a2+ bug? freecad crashes when duplicating external object

In a2plus, when add an external object and then duplicate, FreeCAD would crash and disappear. Hi, this chrash seems to depend on the FC version. I can reproduce it with: OS: Linux Mint 18.3 (X-Cinnamon/cinnamon) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.17499 (Git) AppImage...
