Interesting that this forum does not allow FreeCAD files to be uploaded.
It's allowed and I did that a few posts back.

Re: Creating solids from offset bspline.

I'm having the same problem. I can do an OCC-style offset bit not a regular one. 20191005a.png I get this error message in the Report View: Pick distance: ('[Draft.todo.commit] Unexpected error:', <type 'exceptions.AttributeError'>, 'in ', ['Draft.offset(FreeCAD.ActiveDocument.BSpline,FreeCAD.Vector...

Re: Unable to cut shape?

Hi Trooper149, welcome to the forum! So I am trying to create a male to female thread. I have created the female thread, all I need to do is shave off the top and bottom of the thread structure and then cut a cylinder to the shape of the female thread or just create a totally new male thread. Either...

Re: Chamfers are not exporting to STL file (sword project)

So there isn't a function like Export Visible or Select Visible? Sorry, I didn't think of this when I replied last night: From the pull-down menu go to Tools > Add-on Manager > Macros (tab) > SelectVisible and you can try that Macro. I did try using Box Select (Shift + B) in the 3D view and it only...

Re: Chamfers are not exporting to STL file (sword project)

I used Edit>Select All before exporting, That's wrong and a common beginner mistake. By Exporting "All", you're also Exporting parts of your model that existed before the Chamfers, and these larger shapes fill in what the Chamfers removed. Each of your swords are a bunch of disconnected pieces, usu...

Re: Problems when applying thickness to a loft

On the overall loft, geometry check gave no erros, But the shape content showed 842 faces That's Ok, that your model has that many Faces isn't a problem in itself. - selecting deirectly on screen gave me one face, and lets me apply thicjness but also returns an error message: BRep_API: command not ...

Re: Constraints, & Blank files

Oh, it has that gross debug window (Report View?) I like the Report View to be visible but you can, in the Report View window, click the Close Window button. Or from the pull-down menu: View > Panels, then un-tick Report View. The trick is, you don't draw things right - you draw them WRONG, and the...

Re: Creating solids from offset bspline.

Wow!!! I didn't expect soooo much help. Thank you bejant and vocx. You're welcome; replies happen quickly here. The reason I went to the Arch workbench was that I could not do an offset function from within the Sketcher workbench. Am I correct, or is there a way from within sketcher? As vocx wrote ...

Re: Boolean to cut

I haven't used the Fasteners WB for quite some time so I'm a bit rusty. The last link I posted should be helpful, but the method I am most familiar with is to Sweep a profile of either the thread tooth or the thread void along a helix, adding or subtracting the Sweep from the rest of the model. Just...
