Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

I am in the process of writing instructions in the wiki of repository. I am a windows user, and I am using version 19. I don't know if that is the problem. You need to start with the IVP command and set initial values. when you click ok there it creates an initial values object as well as a few fold...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

I will restructure my code. I will not be using the namespace workbench at this time. Thanks vocx. Would it be possible to structure the code how the current Draft Workbench does it? I think many workbenches just throw their files in the root directory and this is very messy. Also many combine graph...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Here is a test model and resulting input file. It is a double pendulum . I didn't bother to change the units; I guess MBDyn uses SI units, FreeCAD uses mm for length.

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

I have been working on preprocessing MBDyn with FreeCAD. I have modified MBDyn's GSOC project by experimenting with scripted objects. The MBDyn model gets saved in scripted objects. A write command used the scripted objects to write a MBDyn input file. I have a command to create rigid bodies; when y...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Pd. Does anyone have any idea on how to install/compile? MBDyn under Windows? Not sure if not being able to execute it in Windows will be a limitation? I do not have any issue working only with Linux, but this may reduce the number of people using/interested on the workbench, no? Here are instructi...

Re: Buffalo Springfield steam road roller

Have you ever thought about creating all the bodies in a single file at their proper location in the assembly? You might enjoy more the in-context "design" process. No assembly workbench required ! I have seen that you are playing with assembly4. How does that compare to creating a model as you des...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Hi José and everyone, I read this whole thread and found some quite interesting discussions. I've been involved with the development of MBDyn and was responsible for the team's participation in GSoC. We do have another MBDyn pre/postprocessor addon for FreeCAD, but it needs improvement. I agree wit...

Re: Should every Unit have an App::Property?

I would think density would be the property you want.

would the material editor work for this?

Re: [Feature requests] Working points, lines and planes

Just after finally writing my previous post I had the right idea for searching ... In this post in the german forum are some macros for DatumGeometry in other WBs. ickby suggests it would not be hard to code in this thread, but I am not much of a programmer. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.p...
