OK I scrapped that one and started again. I did try Esc and then double click on the sketch and it seems to work as you said, no idea why it didn't last time, I must have done something else as well. Well the reason I was not using the PPA was because I didn't know it existed :)

I have now installed it. Yes I agree, much better to get auto updates.
