Re: 'Cut' fatal error

Hi, Hope you won't mind me butting in :) If I select first "Cut" then "LenseCover001" and press the boolean cut button it returns a valid shape back. Yes, the selection order is important. The first selection should be the body which is cut, and the second the cutting object. Out of curiosity, I che...

Re: spaceball again

I installed the deb packages created from the natty source packages, and it works now! :D I don't know if it's related, at first it didn't work, so I compiled the spnavcfg utility and ran it, then my SpaceNavigator was recognized in FreeCAD. Last night I had compiled FreeCAD after installing the spa...

Re: spaceball again

I just tried it with the spacenavd source packages. I unpacked spacenavd_0.5.orig.tar.gz and spacenavd_0.5-1.debian.tar.gz, got a spacenavd-0.5 folder and a debian folder. Put the latter in the former, cd spacenavd-0.5 then debuild. It seemed to work. Did the same with libspnav, got both libspnav-de...

Re: spaceball again

Well I installed the Natty spacenav drivers last night, compiled FreeCAD r4419 and... the SpaceNavigator isn't recognized. So I uninstalled the packages. Instead of installing binary packages from later versions which is always a bit risky is to grab the upstream sources, the diff.gz file and the .d...

Re: spaceball again

Hey guys, Sorry I didn't share in the "fun". ;) I'm glad Werner included the spacenav integration code into FreeCAD. A question about the spacenav drivers: since Natty's repo has got the most recent drivers, wouldn't downloading the three packages and installing them on Lucid work (I'm still on Ubun...

Re: spaceball again

Ok, had a look at the man page for patch (didn't even know it was a CLI tool until I looked for a way to patch your file  ) It says the common use is patch -pnum <patchfile After skimming through it I'm still unsure what the command should be (is -pnum necessary here, should it be p1, p2, etc....

Re: spaceball again

Thanks!

But... as I said, I have no idea what "applying the patch" means. How do I do that?

P.S. Forgot to thank rbackman for the links!

Re: spaceball again

The forum accepts only a limited number of file extensions. I think you need to zip it first for it to be accepted.

Re: problem with "make" ver. 4375; 4376; 4377

Seems like Werner's modifications did the trick, R4385 built fine. Thanks Werner! :D

Re: spaceball again

Hi tanderson69,

how do you apply a patch? I'm used to compiling FreeCAD but not with any special parameters. I'd like to try though. :)

If your diff is less than 256KB you could attach it here, if you don't mind of course.
