Re: Ask for clarifying support for python 2

Wouldn't it make sense to drop Python 2 from the freecad-daily builds (for 18.04+) as soon as possible, to have the most time to iron out Python 3 issues? Quite a few python developers have lamented on the forum in the past year that the daily builds were still based on Py2. In any case Python 2 is ...

Re: FreeCAD change log for 0.18.1 version

0.18.1 is a tag in the FreeCAD source code. Unfortunately it's not easy to compare it with the initial releases/FreeCAD-0-18 branch because it now includes commits from the 0.18.1 tag as well as three more commits. https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/tree/0.18.1 https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/tr...

Re: FreeCAD document icon

I tested both sudo cp freecad-doc.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/mimetypes/application-x-extension-fcstd.png and sudo cp freecad-doc.svg /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/mimetypes/application-x-extension-fcstd.svg since they amount to what the old freecad package did. I'm not sure why but it to...

Re: [Coordination] Ubuntu freecad-stable PPA update to 0.18

Sorry for forgetting this topic, yes, both are needed to fix the issue. On another topic: there have been issues for people to upgrade their freecad package from the freecad-stable PPA when they haven't updated for some time. One of the reasons for it: the opencascade-7.3 packages. See this French t...

Re: FreeCAD document icon

It looks like we need to add some symlinks to this file: https://salsa.debian.org/science-team/freecad/blob/master/debian/freecad-common.links The old freecad-stable package used to copy into /usr/share/icons/hicolor/ through the rules file. Very few applications copy icons in the /pixmaps folder, ...

Re: TechDraw seems not to have sufficient projection capabilities

The first bug is that OCC projection algorithm returns zero edges for ProjItem/Front, even though the input shape is valid. Part CheckGeometry reports "SimpleAssemblyShape" as an invalid solid. This is probably some kind of compound created by one assembly add-on or another? I wonder if a Part cont...
