Re: 0.17 future request

Mark Off Topic sorry :?: @Quick61 are you use tpaviot oce or tanderson(blobfish) oce? See here: http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16837 tpaviot oce - compiled from source. https://github.com/tpaviot/oce/ How did you create your file? I just copied it, (base-shape Sketch) from the OP d...

Re: 0.17 future request

If you'll allow me some advice. I had a quick look at the base-shape sketch, and you're using a lot of dimensional constraints with a zero value. This is bad practice. Overall you use way too many dimensional constraints where geometric constraints should have been used. You beat me to it Norm. I h...

Re: Cannot convert a draft rectangle to sketch

Select XZ or YZ working plane and change view to match How do I do this? I can see in "Part Design" work bench how there are different working planes, but I don't see this in Draft Workbench. Edit: nvm, I think I figured it out. Draft SelectPlane should get you there. It's located in the upper left...

This is exactly why I'm hooked on FreeCAD :D @ezzieyguywuf, you Rock :D  aw shucks you're making me blush... edit: how do I duplicate the bug? Open Draft Workbench Select XZ or YZ working plane and change view to match Make Rectangle Select Rectangle and convert to Sketch Attempt to edit Sket...

Re: Dressup example for Dragknife operations

I recorded a video showing how dressup operations will work. The first example to be implemented is for doing corner actions with a Dragknife . https://youtu.be/9rhhfc4HNII Apparently the audio is way too low. I'll redo tonight. Sorry folks. Still a good vid, and very informative. Thanks! Mark

Re: Change position in sketch

Hello staffanp, Welcome to FreeCAD and the forum. The constraints you are showing there are geometrical constraints and have no "user input value". Only distance/dimensional constraints have an enterable value associated with them. For instance, if you want to set the horizontal length of that recta...

Re: Can't fully constrain sketch Nor find broken portion in order to pad

Another thing with complex sketches like this, after taking Jim's suggestion to only do half and mirror, when starting the Sketch, start out with one closed profile and fully constrain it before starting to add more lines/arcs, etc.. This will help remove a massive amount of confusion in your constr...

Re: Help on Revolve, please

Good idea Mark. And I personally find ShapeBuilder's greatest weakness is that it does not produce parametric objects. This is why I seldom use it. While I find ShapeBuilder quite useful, I concur, it could be more, if only an code monkey,(and I mean that with the utmost affection), would write it ...

Re: Help on Revolve, please

So what i did was to first use ShapeBuilder to create a face from the 4 edges Hi Mark In the usual FreeCAD manner there is often many ways to do something. I just thought I would add that another method to get that face could be to use a Draft_Facebinder or perhaps mount a Sketch to the surface and...

Re: pocket issue trough fillet on 0.16

This would be a good reason to not fillet until the very end of your modeling history. However in this case, fillets fail after the pocket. So in this case, try reducing the Fillet radius a bit, say 4.8 or so, and see if the Pocket does not perform better for you.

Nice model btw.
