It is difficult to search for things when you don't know what they are called.
Did you try to search the Wiki for Glossary? ;)

Re: Export to STL problem - 2

Hello Nic, Welcome to FreeCAD and the forum. Your problem starts back at the beginning. Not entirely your fault as FreeCAD allowed you to do something that should not be allowed. What you did was to create a compound object, without the Boolean Compound, with a single sketch when you made Pad. These...

Re: Help on Revolve, please

First you need an independent face/edge/point to revolve. FreeCAD does not recognize a face from a solid as being an independent object. First I'll take it you're wanting something like this - Revolve.png So what i did was to first use ShapeBuilder to create a face from the 4 edges of the end of Upr...

Re: Export to STL Problem

@paullee - Please do not compress and present as such your FreeCAD file for posting in this forum. The forum will accept the *.FCStd format and the file is already compressed by default. You can set the compression ratio of the *.FCStd file by going to E dit > P references... > General tab > Documen...

Re: newbie question

You can learn the very basics of Constraints from Sketcher Micro Tutorial - Constraint Practices, I wasn't aware you made this Mark, that's very useful. :) Yea, did that a while ago. Thought it would be easier to have a link to the Wiki than explain it time and again. ;) BTW, your link does not wor...

Re: newbie question

Hello steppi, Welcome to FreeCAD and the forum. In Part Design, you are adding features to a single part that is rooted on the first Sketch and feature. All other features from then on are based on the orientation of that first sketch and can not be changed. But there are several easy solutions to y...

Re: GUI Fonts?

Hello jerryk, Welcome to FreeCAD and the forum. E dit > P references... > Display > Sketcher tab should do it for you. You will need to load, (go to) the Part Design or Sketcher workbench first so the module and it's preferences will be available. Also please have a look the the Forum rules and Help...

Re: Help on sketching

Hey Mark, I think you reversed the position of the ears (Look at his screenshot). The problem is that Fron's ortho views seem to be using First Angle projection. We both know that real technical drawing is done with the Third Angle projection. :P (J/K!!!) Hokey smokes, your correct. Good 'ol dyslex...

Re: Help on sketching

First thing, there is a problem with your 2D drawing. Your total width is 61.9, but if one adds up the dimensions across the bottom, they come out to be 58. Setting the Arcs at 60* does not allow the distance of 5.1 to exist within the limits of the other dimensions. Other than that, when placing th...
