Macros can do it. Not sure about if OCC itself offers it...
Thanks for the info. I'v seen the Macros. They will probably do.

Golden Spiral.

Anyone know if there are any provisions in OCE/OCCT to construct a golden spiral? FreeCAD easily does linear spirals, but can that be set up to do a spiral based on the golden ratio? Nothing important, just curious. I know OpenSCAD can do it, and is used to create nautilus shells for 3D printing and...

Re: how to improve nurbs rendering

Lower your tessellation setting. E dit > P references... > Part Design > Shape view tab. Only thing I know to get it to look better. Default os 0.5%, try 0.05% and see if it makes a difference. Note that this will affect the speed of your boolean operations. I don't know if Coin has a "smoothing" op...

Re: Adding an angle draft to a face with rounded edges

Note to Admins - Maybe it's time for us so called "gurus" to have our own class on the forum with the allowances for a few more attachments per post or some such. It would make things easier when explaining things to new and lesser informed users. It's a good idea. :) When I was an admin I had no l...

Re: Adding an angle draft to a face with rounded edges

Hi Mark, I had a go at this and am got slightly lost. Would you mind elaborating or pointing me toward a wiki for this please? Many Thanks, Oly OK, looking at this a bit closer, what you would do would be to first create a small helper Pad, (in 0.16, not necessary in 0.17), by clicking on the botto...

Re: Adding an angle draft to a face with rounded edges

Hi Bejant, Thanks for the speedy reply. I was bound to be unclear - apologies. I appreciate the tip for padding the underside rather that upwards. I still can't get the draft angle such that the wide end is shallower than the thin end. I have done a crude paint drawing of what I mean (attached). An...

Re: Basic question about how FreeCAD works

Thank you Mark for your reply. How does the user choose between FBC and CSG? Are certain tools (icons in the tool bar?) relegated/reserved for one or the other? And when/why would the user choose one method over the other? Cheers. First, your welcome. The Part Design workbench is aimed and the feat...

Re: Some questions related to Path with the latest daily build

Yes. Thanks for the clarification. I think what I'd like to do for usability improvement is have the setting for post-processor become an Enumeration (ie dropdown select) The list of all available postprocessors in /Mod/Path/PathScripts and in the user macro directory would be built and de-duplicat...

Re: Basic question about how FreeCAD works

I"m a real FreeCAD beginner noob, so forgive my simple terminology. I've created a basic object. It's an elongated cube (if there isn't a one-word name for such an object, there should be!) (c; If I understand how FreeCAD works, once an object is created, you modify it, one face at a time, by creat...
