Re: Ticket #4372 - SpaceBall rotation stops when focus leaves main display panel in v0.18/0.19

The easiest solution might be to set the receiver to the visible 3d view (if any). That already happens when the spaceball event 'climbs' the QWidget parent tree and ends up at the main window. https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob/master/src/Gui/MainWindow.cpp#L801 Maybe there is an improperly p...

Re: Sweep - Deformation of profile

... a really interesting task, to build a helical pipe with a controlled contour - more than cylindrical or conical. Yes it is. I used DRAWEXE to create a pcurve from the contour surface and used that for the sweep spine. With this, the coil wraps are more evenly spaced along the contour surface. o...

Re: Can't join manifolds

... add the individually lofted runners as the original workflow requires Where was that spelled out as a requirement? That one doesn't have knife-edge splitters in the ports, if we're going to observe notions of flow management. Yeah I didn't consider that, but it wasn't hard to change. Lots of bo...

So any letter that has a BSpline in it's wire like the problem that previously existed in Path>Engaving fails but a small k suceeds because it's all straight lines??
That's how it seems. I am surpised that converting to a Sketch helps.
This might be the same thing:

Re: Open 3D Mouse working with Spacenavd on Ubuntu 20.04

The more I look at the Spacenav code the more I convinced my self to make a dedicated driver for the Open 3D Mouse based on how Spacenav works. I wouldn't be afraid of a different protocol either. Here is a screenshot of my driver controller and it's options for enabling/disabling different protoco...

Re: Open 3D Mouse working with Spacenavd on Ubuntu 20.04

When there's a new packet in the /dev/hidrawN the first packet is the Report ID. If the Report Id it's 1, then the Handlers mouse2 event7 get and process that packet. The same goes for every Report Id. I got a problem with the current spacenav implementation. It is made for a single report id. A de...

Re: Open 3D Mouse working with Spacenavd on Ubuntu 20.04

Is it normal for these types of devices to only be usable inside the application and not on the desktop? Yes that is normal. Well, in the case of the driver spacenavd, take the data and send instrucction to the X11 so application like FreeCAD and Blender respond to it. spacenavd supports 2 differen...

Re: Open 3D Mouse working with Spacenavd on Ubuntu 20.04

I am making a Open 3D Mouse (Both Open Source and Open Hardware) based on Nordic nRF52 chips using HOGP (HID Over Gap Profile). That is great! Is anything public yet? Sorry I can't help with your specific questions as I run my old serial magellan plus xt on debian. I implemented the linux spaceball...
