Re: Reimplementing constraint solver

... and neither gcc nor clang had a problem with it... just MSVC... Are you are actually copying a FCSSketch object in your current code? I am guessing not, so gcc and clang recognized it and didn't generate the default copy constructor, but msvc did try to generate the default copy construc...

Re: Reimplementing constraint solver

In c++11 the default destructor is noexcept unless a data member is noexcept (or inheritance is which does not apply here). Implicitly-declared destructor If no user-declared destructor is provided for a class type (struct, class, or union), the compiler will always declare a destructor as an inlin...

Re: Reimplementing constraint solver

I still do not understand the underlying reason and I am quite desperate. If you happen to realise which part of my reasoning if flawed, I would appreciate. Your reasoning isn't flawed, mine was. I forgot: "std::move doesn't move anything". I have formed the habit of always using emplace_back inste...

Re: Reimplementing constraint solver

I have put the offending code here: https://godbolt.org/z/8ENcfu //taken from the godbolt website: ... int main() { std::vector<GeoDef> Geoms; // create our own copy Geometry *p = new GeomPoint; // create the definition struct for that geom GeoDef def; def.geo = std::move(std::unique_ptr<Geometry>(...

Re: STEP 242

Thank you for the link. This will help me. I want to read the step files and store the information in a graph database. I use neo4j. With the stored data I can get the geometry data to create edges, faces etc. But it can be used for topological investigations too. The workflow is: read and parse th...

I mean the other problem zone can done also with an exact straight transition with fillets.
That looks close to picture, which is all you can do without proper dimensions. Nice.

Re: Fillets and old iron

But, the fillets are not as specified either... .118 vs. .125 Yup, I missed that. One interesting thing is the use of pads for the flange instead of a revolve. Which appears to allow the engine to handle fillets somewhat better. Can you determine the type of surface output by the revolve? 'planar' ...

Re: Fillets and old iron

Just for testing. Works without problems here (PartDesign). But i was expecting errors on the corner (like other CADs) so i the way i model it was a little different (like i do when i see corners like that). Oh sure, just move the base chamfer away from the problem area ;) It is not specified on th...

Wow ! Looks nicely done - can you post the file?
I used opencascade, but not freecad. So all I can give you is a brep. If you want to know how I did something specific, just ask.

Re: Fillets and old iron

opencascade can do it with the proper amount of swearing. I had the most trouble in the front area without the boss.
