Re: External full Python WB Unit Tests

There is a nice solution in the InitGui.py of https://github.com/microelly2/freecad-nurbs near line 140. The same dialog as the one used in the 'official' Test WB appears (when clicking a 'Test' command) with a drop-down list of unit tests scripts. Here is the snippet extracted from InitGui.py class...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Hi, I've been working on another topic for some time, but I'm still very much attentive to the development of ASM3. I have a problem however: the images you provide are going too fast for me! I have found a way to start the first image, but the scroll is too fast for me, and as we can not put a pic...

Re: Assembly3 preview

What is the mechanism to get workbench commands to be visible and the Python console and recordable as macros? It works in some other workbenches so there must be a way ... This requires workbench author to explicitly use FC command system. I'll add this support in 0.9 release. Wicked ! You are a m...

External full Python WB Unit Tests

I have some questions, for the more experienced folks with FreeCAD, regarding the preferred unit testing strategy for external workbenches. 1. Is any code organisation and testing framework ok (as long as it works) or should an organisation and framework (unittest I guess) be preferred for potential...

Re: Assembly3 preview

To whoever this might be useful, a shell script that builds the LinkStage3 branch of FreeCAD and the Assembly3 workbench (from realthunder repos) with the solvespace backend on Ubuntu 18.04. Adjust your install path (it installs in /opt/freecad-build) and the number of processors for compilation (-j...

Re: Views toggling macro

The 'white list' idea is a really good and useful one ! I will include it. Thanks for that.

Views toggling macro

Hi, Building on https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Macro_Toggle_Panels_Visibility , and as an exercise on my way to learn the dev side of FreeCAD, here is a new version that hides and restores all views so that the 3d view gets all the space. Run the macro again to restore the Report view, the Console ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

The Assembly3 workbench does not seem to write to the Python console nor to be recordable as a macro. 1. New document 2. Part workbench 3. Create cube 4. Create cylinder 5. Assembly3 workbench With these actions, the Python console displays: Python 2.7.6 (default, Mar 22 2014, 23:03:41) [GCC 4.8.2] ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Wow ! I have been trying Assembly3 for some days now and it I just love it. What an amazing workbench ! I guess it will make FreeCAD go up one level. IMO, the ability to split a project in many individual parts + assembly logic, on top of being a better way to model things, is paving the way for eff...
