Re: Using Visual Studio as Python editor

The way I debug my workbenches and macros in Visual Studio 2019 Community Edition is first startup FreeCAD, and then attach VS via the Debug menu, Debug -> attach to process... -> Attach To.. Python Code -> Select FreeCAD.exe from list of available processes. Once that's done open the macro or work...

Re: GSoC Proposal: Extended functionality of Rebar Addon

Hi @ebrahim raeyat Having Rebar shapes horizontal in rebar shape cut list is implemented as per this commit. Thanks, Thanks a lot. I have a suggestion too. I think for a rebar it is better to obtain the largest edge length and then rotate the rebar, so the largest edge become horizontal, this is us...

Have you tried Dodo WB from addon manager?
Thanks a lot, I had been search and find Flamingo first, but early I found that it is for python2 and skipped it. But, Dodo!! Seems good for now.

Re: best way to draw 2D steel column view

I write this code for drawing section, but I want to assign all objects as Shape of Section object: import FreeCAD import Part import ArchProfile import Draft class PartFeature: def __init__(self, obj): obj.Proxy = self class Section(PartFeature): def __init__(self, obj): PartFeature.__init__(self, ...

best way to draw 2D steel column view

Hi @all, I don't know that this is related post to this topic, but my question is: * I want to draw this steel columns in format of DXF. I take some approach, but I want to know your opinions: 1- draw section of each story and then extrude it. then use techdraw WB to obtain 2D viewing of it, then cr...

Re: GSoC Proposal: Extended functionality of Rebar Addon

Hi @ebrahim raeyat Thanks for sharing this fact. :) Getting all rebars drawn vertically or horizontally is also possible in our RebarShape cut list. There are two ways to do that: 1. If your model is generated using rebar2 objects, then you can place all BaseRebars (RebarShape objects) horizontally...

Re: GSoC Proposal: Extended functionality of Rebar Addon

Hi @Suraj, I tested your latest code with my retaining wall example. simply great :D The rearranged output looks awesome! shape_cut_list_retaining_wall.PNG With the pending inclined dimensions and maybe the possibility to assign a maximum row number with rebar wrapping in new columns IMO would make...

Re: GSoC Proposal: Extended functionality of Rebar Addon

BTW would it be possible to generate a shape cut list only for a subset of rebars present in a model? I think of a drawing where only some structural members of the model are present, say for example only foundations. The related shape cut list should consider only related rebars. I think it would ...

Re: GSoC Proposal: Extended functionality of Rebar Addon

The output produced looks great. I am unable to test it because of dependency on python2.7 and PyQt4 (I have not installed yet). I will try to have a deep look into it soon. Thanks @ebrahim raeyat for sharing this. :) I asked author to port it to python3 a long time ago, but it seems it is not done.
