Re: OpenSees, the Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation

Hi ebrahim, YEAH works great here too. Understood your code now. I had never used multiple inheritance before. It does write the Heading, Materials, Nodes, Elements and Loads for me. BTW: added the opensees solver to the cantilever example https://github.com/berndhahnebach/FreeCAD_bhb/commit/1eb1bf...

Have you instanciated the base writer clas FemInputWriter? The "NodeLoadTable" should be added there.

Would you point me to a branch where all you code is?
yes, this is my branch:

Re: OpenSees, the Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation

I implemented element writer. now, when i want to implement load writer it gives me that error: for ref_shape in femobj["NodeLoadTable"]: KeyError: 'NodeLoadTable' while i copy format from other solver: for femobj in self.force_objects: # femobj --> dict, FreeCAD document object is femobj["Object"] ...

Re: 1/2D element like membrane, plate, truss?

ccx has a lot of elements too http://web.mit.edu/calculix_v2.7/CalculiX/ccx_2.7/doc/ccx/node25.html ATM in FreeCAD FEM there is no object to choose the elment type. If you mesh a mesh with 8-nodes brick, an 8-nodes brick is used in ccx. If you mesh with a prisma element a prisma element is used in ...
