problems with mesh generation

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I import an step file to freecad. In part module, I make a double check: 1.- Refine shape. 2.- Check geometry. There is no geometry errors and the shape Content is: VERTEX : 3606 EDGE : 6364 WIRE : 2659 FACE : 2655 SHELL : 1 SOLID : 1 COMPSOLID : 0 COMPOUND : 0 SHA...

[SOLVED] Frequency analysis - Less eigenmodes are calculated

Hello, I have a question regarding to obtained results in frequency analysis. I have a free-free workpiece (without constrains or boundary conditions). I set the calculation of 20 eigenmodes by changing in the inp file the amount of eigenmodes *STEP *FREQUENCY 20,0.0,100000.0 *END STEP I also setthe...

Re: [SOLVED] Error using *STEP, PERTURBATION

Not the first time that this problem is popping up... See: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=20392 Thank you Jee-bee! I solved the problem including the density value in the material. The rest is exactly as explained in Calculix manual. Did you generate the file with FreeCAD GUI, it shou...

Re: [Help, info] *INITIAL CONDITIONS, TYPE=STRESS

Hello, I will post some inputs. Using *INITIAL CONDITIONS, TYPE=STRESS card it is possible to simulate residual stress without requiring fixed boundary conditions and without adding loads. This can be done by typing in input file (it is an example C3D10 element with 4 integration points): *INITIAL C...

Re: [Help, info] *INITIAL CONDITIONS, TYPE=STRESS

You can ask ccx to write element stresses into the .dat file by *EL PRINT S you will obtain something like: stresses (elem, integ.pnt.,sxx,syy,szz,sxy,sxz,syz) for set EALL and time 0.1000000E+01 109 1 -1.939353E+01 -1.272398E-03 2.760113E-01 -2.675997E-01 7.474604E-01 3.491194E-02 109 2 -2.050975E...

[SOLVED but hack is required] *INITIAL CONDITIONS, TYPE=STRESS

Hello, Reading the calculix manual, I found a card that allows to generate residual stresses at the beginning on the simulation. CalculiX CrunchiX USER’S MANUAL version 2.13 (in page 291) 6.11.7 Initial(residual) stresses In each integration point of an element a residual stress tensor can be specif...

The CLoad is only needed if you would like to apply loads not in the normal direction of the element face.
Ok, good point! got it ;)
