Re: Body, Parts, etc - Understanding the hierarchy

Oh, and I nearly forgot, here are a couple of messages I get when working on my preferred file: ... It sounds like you created your files with 0.16 or earlier. The PartDesign Workbench changed in 0.17 by introducing the PartDesign Body and also Std_Part . You need to have your solids inside a PartD...

Re: New short wiki pages on Debian & packaging

... How do I create a sandbox for this page? You can just edit the page itself. It doesn't matter if it's a work in progress. Or just create a second page, Windows_packaging_sandbox ; edit it as you like, and when you are finished, copy and paste all information into the real page, Windows_packagin...

The new icon for placemente to me looks more apropiate for the origin since it has axes and planes
I also like it for that, but maybe the classical icon is better to avoid confusing users.

Re: PartDesign Body Origin

... However, I find the new icon for position rather unclear. I'm not sure that the coloured lines add any information. How about the three grey lines and the dot, without the extras? That is similar to origin but distinguishable from it. With icons this small you can not afford to put too much in ...

Re: PartDesign Body Origin

What is this Placement? Is it a local coordinate system? If not, how is it created? As I said in the previous post you can create the object like this App.ActiveDocument.addObject("App::Placement", "Placement") App::Placement seems to be some sort of internal object. It seems to use the App::Proper...

Re: Install on Unix locked

Waiting to unlock the page, I created https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Install_on_Linux/Unix for any changes. Please don't use the forward slash on the page's name. That is confusing because it's the separator for web pages. You can use something simple like Install_on_Linux2 , and then just move it...

Re: Mediawiki Github extension ?

...My issue is that now my code is in 'FreeCAD-Macros' repo, I'll just use GH PR to update. In order to keep sync with code displayed in Wiki... I think the issue is that you want to have the code in two places. As far as I can tell, the best solution is to have macro code only in one place, in the...

Yes, arrows work for the documentation online, but nor for the offline documentation.

Does it work for you when you compile locally?

I can do it manually using the assembly2 WB and controlling it manually.
...
Don't use Assembly2. It is obsolete.

Use A2plus Workbench, which is based on the former but not compatible.
