Re: Cannot change length

... I want to cut the attached part. ... I would think a simple thing like changing a dimension of a model would be an easy thing to do... Your FreeCAD file includes one Std_Part and inside it, it contains three simple solids. These simple solids are not parametric. It seems you imported these soli...

Re: Using the API

Sad to hear that. 5GB sounds rather big, much bigger than the FreeCAD program itself which contains documentation through the console. Do you have a source for that? The incompleteness should probably better be mentioned on the API page. I expected a complete API. Regarding hosting I am rather sure...

Re: Wall based on WallTrace, bug on Sketch.Placement.Rotation.Angle=90

Hi vocx, can you test it too? I quickly tested the steps from your first post but didn't see the error messages that you indicate. My hard drive crashed so I just finished re-installing my Ubuntu and FreeCAD in a new hard drive. I can test more once I configure my new system. I tested with today's ...

Re: build failure with assembly module enabled

Ok, if it's kept as a reference I would say it must at least compile successfully ... No. Do not compile the Assembly workbench. It doesn't work. I don't understand why you try to compile it. It hasn't been updated or maintained by anybody in ages. You don't need to do anything with it. Unless you ...

Re: Draft Wire & Draft Polyline

that was my guess: the code is internally using "wire". so, if somebody wants to know more about the function "polyline", he goes on the wiki page "draft polyline" and there, he needs to go to the "draft wire" page to understand it. am i right? No, this is convoluted. The user will most probably us...

Re: TechDraw drawing rendering as only gray window

... I didn't realize that new versions of FreeCAD also can change topological naming, so now I know that too. ... I would not say this is correct. What you experience looks like the topological naming problem , but I'm not saying changing the version of FreeCAD causes it. Version 0.19 has many inte...

Re: Needing help with shell designing workflow

Dear all, I'm actually transforming my 3D CAD activity from SketchUp to FreeCAD! However, I'm still struggling with designing surfaces/planes being orientated across the 3D-space. Surfaces in space is more of the task of an organic modeller, like Blender. In Blender you can edit the vertices that m...

Re: TechDraw drawing rendering as only gray window

... The Vertical-A section is upside down The author of TechDraw just re-worked the orientations of the views as they were incorrect in various cases. This means that if you previously had a "top view", maybe now you need a "bottom view". Big Internal Changes for View Orientation You should probabl...

Re: Is there a fix for the Draft to Sketch: All objects must be co-planar error.

...just in case the fix mentioned by Yorik in https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=2867 was implemented. ... What fix? You are linking to a thread from 2012. The problem seems to be that your Draft object has various points in space. The object must be planar in the XY plane for it to be co...

Re: Why do arch wall segements sometimes have inside and outside reversed.

Just noticed that the process I used to cut out the test example has somehow resulted in the wire being converted into a featurePython object. In the original file it was a Part::PartFeature. I have attached a new version which preserves the original object type. roger I'm not sure what you mean by...
