Re: Interesting: How to render simulation animations and screenshots using Paraview

Thought this would be of interest to the FEM-Knights ;) This is interesting for sure. I didn't know Paraview could open d3plots. That must mean the d3plot file format is well described in LS-Dyna's manual. I think I've seen it, I just didn't remember it. I'm not sure if CalculiX can do these types ...

Re: Let's talk about libredwg support

@looo doesn't it make sense to follow this advice ? It's basically the same thing, subprocess.call() internally uses subprocess.Popen() . The latter is more low level, and provides more control over the communication with external programs. The call() function was used in older Python 2 code, so th...

Re: TechDraw : the programmatically way, part II

I haven't looked at this for a while 3077 . Maybe you have the solution. [Solved] Running FreeCAD in headless mode Haven't played around much with the FreeCADGui classes, but I think for the most part you need to start up the GUI. For instance, the color info is not loaded when you're on headless m...

Re: TechDraw : the programmatically way, part II

... It's actually TechDrawGui .exportPageAsSvg(). It depends on FreeCADGui (among other things) and FreeCADGui is hard (impossible?) to run from the command line. @ian.rees spent quite a bit of time on this, but IIRC, he never got it to work right. ... Oh, you mean headless, without a GUI at all? I...

Improvement: Draft Array should gracefully handle objects that cannot be arrayed

While testing the Draft Array command I realize some objects like Draft Text and Draft Dimension cannot be turned into arrays. Either the internal command Draft.makeArray() , or the graphical command Array() defined in DraftTools.py , should handle gracefully this situation. This isn't a big problem...

That doesn't mean much. The Travis continuous integration system may report failures for different reasons, but still compile fine once in the system.

I don't understand your question. This is exactly a function that you can use from the Python console. What do you mean it's not available.

Re: Gui: Difference between PySideUic and UiLoader

... Maybe one function should be deprecated if one provides no substantial benefit over the other? As I mentioned, it seems to me PySideUic is "better", but UiLoader is lower level. UiLoader seems to handle other things that aren't loading .ui files, so I don't think it can be deprecated just for t...

But doing boolean operations isn't necessary in general, with PartDesign. You should be able to model ...

Awesome!
Is there anyone working on a py3 port as well ?
It's already ported to Py3 and Qt5. The problem is that there are some errors with Coin3D. So this needs to be investigated further.
