[FIXED] Allowed section area smaller than Body size

Hi! I noticed a small problem with TechDraw sections. It's a bit difficult to explain, so I made video about the problem. Basically the section view cannot extend beyond the body's original bounding box, and if you rotate the body, the bounding box is not rotated, which generally gives you too tight...

Re: Intra v0.19 File Loading Problems with Cosmetic Items

It isn't so much the items that are a problem, but the new attributes. The file loader starts looking for, say, "CLPoints" in Document.xml, then runs right to the end of the file because "CLPoints" isn't there. To load a file with the old Cosmetics, create a "restoreCosmetic" parameter and set it t...

Re: Intra v0.19 File Loading Problems with Cosmetic Items

I have introduced a file incompatibility between involving CosmeticVertex/CosmeticEdges/Centerlines. You may get "invalid XML errors" if loading a file from before approx mid Oct with the current software. I don't have a conversion strategy at the moment. I don't think that the version inconsistenc...

Re: [Bug?] Recent FreeCAD crashes when opening a file with TechDraw page made with the same version

CenterLines seem to be thoroughly broken. Stay away from them while I sort things out. No worries, I understand they are experimental development at the moment. And they are already so useful in their slightly broken form, that I rather use them than not. So, I find them a very welcome addition to ...

[Bug?] Recent FreeCAD crashes when opening a file with TechDraw page made with the same version

Hi! Attached you'll find a drawing of a rather basic part that I made with TechDraw in FreeCAD 0.19.18640. However, if I open the FCStd file containing the drawing with FreeCAD 0.19.18640 or 0.19.18671, I'll get a hard crash with no error messages (FreeCAD just closes), apparently at that point when...

[Bug?] Cosmetic CenterLines misbehave if the face/edges they are based on disappear

Hi! I've noticed that the Cosmetic CenterLines misbehave if the faces/edges they are based on disappear. The faces or edges may disappear, if one edits the underlying 3D model. Obviously, the centerlines cannot be re-drawn, if the geometry they are based on does not exist any more. However, currentl...

Code: Select all

Version: 0.19.18589 (Git)
This version has exactly the bug you described, it has been fixed at around ~ v 0.19.18600.

EDIT: Here is the relevant thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=40175. It seems you actully have a version that is just one commit too old.

Re: Assembly4 and TechDraw

Yeah, this begs the feature to have " states " or " configurations " in the assembly: stored and named lists of the assembly's parts to show/hide, and that can be triggered at will. I'd add something that you didn't yet ask-for but that you will: to include in these " configurations " not only show...

Re: Assembly4 and TechDraw

Don't see a work around for this right now. Well, there is a workaround on the assembly side of the process (and I think it's also the suggested way to organize things in FreeCAD assemblies in general): Build your model so that every sub-assembly is in its own .FCStd file. So, you'll have your own ...

Re: Assembly4 and TechDraw

I am working on making drawings from assemblies. Currently I am working with the Assembly4 model from this post: That's great news! I'm already using TechDraw with Assembly4, and there certainly are some oddities: Usually TechDraw draws everything under an Assembly4 assembly "model", but if some bo...
