Re: PySide not found

Hi again, Here are my findings. I'll try to be clear, limited to my current skills. :) Below I guess the source of the problem. On Kubuntu Bionic, "libcoin80-dev" package (that FC needs to compile) depends on "libcoin80v5" : ~/dev/freecad$ apt-cache showpkg libcoin80-dev Package: libcoin80-dev Versi...

Re: PySide not found

May that be the reason that FC & Pivy don't link to the exact same libcoin version ? ~/dev/freecad$ ldd lib/libFreeCADGui.so libCoin.so.80 => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libCoin.so.80 (0x00007fcfbcfbd000) ~/dev/freecad$ ldd /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pivy/_coin.x86_64-linux-gnu.so libCoin.so.80c...

Re: offset new sketch

Begins to look like discussions such as "What's the best between GUI & CLI tools ?"
Probably the best is to be aware of both, know their pros & cons, and choose the most appropriate according the situation. ;)

Re: Spreadsheet WB does not respect number of decimal settings

What a great deal ! Now everybody has to live with a FreeCAD behavior that fits ... uwestoehr's needs. :!:
Should I prepare to fork ? :?: (given that I'm even not able to compile ATM  )

Re: PySide not found

Hi, I have the freecad-daily, freecad-stable & freecad-community PPAs . ;) Actually the lone "build-dep" leads to the first issue I described in the OP. After installing manually more deps, I'm now stuck with this (obscure) problem... :) ATM my better clue is that Cmake returns a "No package 'Coin' ...

Re: PySide not found

Yep. From what I found searching for that problem, it's something linked with Coin and Pivy (the latter linking to different lib than FC)... But I'm clearly navigating beyond my comfort zone, and can't ATM find a simple & clear "How to make it to work" that I can just follow. :) I would never have f...

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

Maybe it makes more sense waiting for 0.18 to be released to launch such a challenge... :?:

Re: offset new sketch

I would like to hear some more opinions on this matter. I mostly agree with you. From my PoV, where Datum planes have real interest only is when you have several sketches to draw on different planes that are not parallel to origin planes. In that case it's easier to set and maintain your custom pla...

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

Therefore best if you open a new thread named something like "FreeCAD Logo Design Challenge 2019" Hi triplus. Actually I formerly created a new thread in "Open discussion" subforum, where I was pointed out that threads about logo topic already exist... Thus now I'm a little bit lost about what is t...

Re: PySide not found

Hi, Thanks for support. ATM I solved the previous issue by manually installing the dependencies rather than using the "build-dep" apt command. Now Cmake completes, and Make also. Unfortunately the compiled binary crashed shortly after UI is displayed with following message : FreeCAD: SoType.cpp :739...
