Re: Can't remove basefeature

Same here, i deleted the base feature, disregarded the warnings and it looks fine so far. I would have done such using a master Sketch or a Table and then derive the constraint values of the 3 independent bodies all from that . The use of a base feature her is not realy obvious to me. In my post I ...

Can't remove basefeature

I was designing three cylindrical parts. Since they are almost identical I created the first one (constrained sketches and all) and then made one copy(duplicate selected object with all dependencies), removed features, changed dimensions from properties panel. From it I created another duplicate and...

Re: Broken body?

This is more for laughs :) Changing mapping of Cylinder while editing Polar feature or something like that produced this:

Re: Constrain a sketch to perpendicular tangent

Nice :) I did not know that Carbon Copy links dimensional constraints that way. Typical RTFM ;)

I do not think that shows anything very useful. Nobody knows in advance where the unfinished solution might be. If the whole file rebuild works, don't worry about the others.
Shouldn't recompute Body invoke recompute Cylinder which fixes the issue? So why does recompute Body doesn't fix it?

Re: Broken body?

I just made several tests. Each is from reloaded file, mark feature for recompute, recompute: - file - fixed - Body - broken - Origin - broken - Cylinder - fixed - Pocket - fixed - Sketch - fixed - Pocket001 - broken - Sketch001 - broken - Pocket002 - broken - Sketch002 - broken This happens every t...

Re: Broken body?

I understood about the seams.
But what if you need to design a revolve/groove feature that is away fron the base axis? I make the sketch, move it to where the axis should be, rotate if I have to and then revolve/groove it around sketch axis.

Re: Broken body?

That fixed it, thanks. But pollar still fails if Vertical sketch axis is selected. It works with Base Z though. Since the sketch is mapped to XZ plane shouldn't 'Vertical sketch axis" = "Base Z axis"?

Broken body?

Any idea why is this happening? I tried polar pattern 360deg first but that did not solve for more than 2 occurences. So I decided to make copies of the sketch and rotate accordingly performing the cuts but then this happened: Err.JPG Replacing the Cylinder with a padded circle works Ok (AngelBlade_...
