Re: How to precisely rotate a complex group of objects?

Add them to Part container and rotate it. Or just export and rotate in the slicer.

Re: Chamfer problem (driving me nuts)

There are seams from second pocket circles. that small one in the middle creates problems with bigger chamfers. . . chamfer_seam.JPG . Weird thing is that even after refining the pocket those seams still manifest . chamfer_seam_refined.JPG . In such cases you can use arcs instead if circles to have ...

Does it merit opening a ticket (to track it) ?
Not an actual bug but just an inconvenience so probably just a feature request for UI tweak?

Re: FC Gears: Feedback thread

So actually for one gear we should only use the half of the given backlash? At first that was my thought but actually you will have half of the backlash per gear and then half of that per side (I assume "rot" is the rotation of one side of the tooth?) so 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 is good. It's a good point t...

Re: Discussion topic for more easily enable / disable BOPCheck in Check Geometry

Looks Ok to me.
Maybe a little UI tweaking to make it a little bit thiner - now with the 4 buttons at the bottom it takes too much space and you have to expand it horizontally to reach the Close button.

Re: FC Gears: Feedback thread

This is the current way how it is used: https://github.com/looooo/freecad.gears ... oth.py#L88 But don't ask me where I have borrowed this formula. In the code here backlash is treated as angle but in the settings is expected as mm. In reality backlash is the minimum distance betweeen teeth when th...
