Re: [SOLVED] Not run FreeCAD_0.19-19405 AppImage

Simple user here. I really hope it will not be removed from the appimage. It makes sense to have a assembly workbench by default in FC and it is the natural evolution of the software after all the work that realthunder has put in to the core. Yes I also see this as a step towards full inclusion of ...

Re: old style wb vs. new style wb

btw. @bernd linking the new-style branch into .FreeCAD/Mod worked for me (py3/conda). It would be nice if anyone can test with py2 too. Also maybe you can add a setup.py file for the new-style branch. This way it's easy to test the library with pip install -e . testing with: OS: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS (...

Re: old style wb vs. new style wb

... So if you want to fully move towards namespace-packages it's best to remove python3 support or support python2 via another branch / version. ... I'm not sure if you wrote it correctly here. Do you mean "it's best to remove python2 support"? Sry, yes I meant py2 here. I edit this as this is real...

Re: old style wb vs. new style wb

Only a very short comment: "from Gui import Workbench" can't work. The module is called FreeCADGui. Also I don't see this in the workbench-starterkit. try: from Gui import Workbench except ImportError as e: App.Console.PrintWarning( "you are using the BOLTS Workbench with an old version of FreeCAD (...

Re: FreeCAD full crash on mesh generation (OS X Mojave)

Its compiled against netgen like the appimage. The netgen stuff worked some time ago and still does for linux. Maybe the smesh update introduced the troubles... But I can't work on this currently ... Please someone else! Mac guys come on! I am not a developer too and not a mac guy. So please use you...

Though I think this macro would be more appropriate in the Gear Workbench it is now part of the official repository: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-macr ... ar.FCMacro.

Is it ok to copy the source over to the gear-worbench? I would like to give it a try

Re: macOS: Possible to have 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse support built into official releases?

P.S. As for the Conda macOS packages. AFAIK there is no FOSS counterpart, like there is one for Linux, therefore the question for @looo i guess is, if the same step could be included in the build procedure on Conda, or not? That is adding a step of downloading and installing the 3DConnexion framewo...

Re: OpenSCAD as installable workbench

In that thread it seems people prefer to keep the OpenSCAD workbench in the main code because it is also used by the Mesh Workbench for some operations. Yes, the Mesh wb uses the boolean operations of OpenSCAD because they are quite robust. I guess these operations are not really openscad-specific....

Re: python

https://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf- ... 50410.html ifcopenshell and ocl might also be an issue. First, they (blender) moved to python3 way too early and now they stay with python3.7 ... :D I will keep the policy to try to stay on top of the versions and not build a too large version-matrix... r...

Re: python

Does anybody know if this works with PY3.8? I'm in the process of upgrading the Conda Win builds to PY3.8.x If someone has tested the FreeCAD importer AddOn with FreeCAD compiled with PY3.8.x then they would have had to make a special build of Blender also. I've got Blender 2.83 Alpha from 6th Feb ...
