Re: Build Pivy for windows

I can't help with the windows compiling issues. But maybe you can try building the original pivy project to check if it isn't related to the stuff I have added to make pivy python3 compatible.

Re: multi bounded face

Maybe it could be a bit simpler to find the orientation and normal direction. But I am glad this can be done with python and I haven't to deal with occ :shock:

Re: Schrägverzahnte Zahnräder

Danke für die info. Negativen Winkel für den Schrägunswinkel sollte jetzt wieder funktionieren. Ich glaube da hat sich einmal etwas bei der Funktion Part.makeHelix geändert, die früher auch mit negativen Werten für den Winkel funktioniert hat. Jetzt geht das mit dem fünften Argument der Funktion mit...

Re: multi bounded face

finally it works. To create multi-bounded faces, two things have to be check: 1. external wire have to be passed as first wire element 2. for every wire create a face and check the normal-direction (not the orientation): it has to be the same as the normal of the external face. Here is the working c...

Re: coin.SoFieldSensor

Sorry, I have changed this in the setup.py file because there where some errors with swig2 and python3. But if you compile with python2 you can replace line 125:

Code: Select all

SWIG = ((sys.platform == "win32" and "swig3.0.exe") or "swig3.0")
with :

Code: Select all

SWIG = ((sys.platform == "win32" and "swig.exe") or "swig")

Re: coin.SoFieldSensor

You have to build freecad with "external_pivy=True". pivy can be build with "python setup.py build" and if everything finishes fine you have to copy the build directory to your python-path or type "python setup.py install". But I have never build anything on windows and I belive it isn't that simple...

Re: Porting to python3

Very nice to see that freecad is on the way to python3.

Re: multi bounded face

Some time ago I think it was possible to create multi bounded faces by applying the outermost wire first to the Part.
I was wrong. This is not working with older versions either. Just tried with 0.14 (3702).

Re: multi bounded face

thanks for the hint. Reversing the rectangle-wires works, but I have no idea when I should apply the reversing. "Wire.Orientation" gives "forward" for all wires and the normals of individual faces point in the same direction.
