Gui::QuantitySpinBox ignores keyboardTracking property

Qt has the cool and very valuable feature of "keyboardTracking": https://doc.qt.io/archives/qt-4.8/qabstractspinbox.html#keyboardTracking-prop This is what we would need e.g. in the TD workbench. I tested it and it works fine with a QDoubleSpinBox, but when using a Gui::QuantitySpinBox, the keyboard...

Re: PR #3456 - Adding chamfer angle field to PartDesign

Many thanks for this new feature! However, there are some issues: -> I'll try to provide a patch - the angle "0°" is allowed despite it is invalid - there is no option to flip the chamfer border: Set e.g. a 1mm chamfer and increase the angle to see that of course only at one side the 1mm distance fr...

Re: how to mark a page as work in progress

I am seeing pages where the 'In progress' template is inserted and then nothing much happens to the page for more than two month. IMO this is not the intended use. It depends. if you think it is not in progress, please contact the author who once set this tag. If he doesn't reply you can replace it...

...the case that users close the dialog without any edge. This must be avoided. I could have a look again if is is possible to disable then the OK button so that the dialog cannot be closed if the dialog list is empty. I think I tried this already. I had a look again and I cannot find a solution: I...

Re: how to measure in a Mesh file?

Of course you can but not with the lasso function because of their from. You have to use the function to pick individual triangles. Please have in mind that I am a novice in this field and the Wiki is not yet very helpful yet. What WB do I have to use and what menu to see and select triangles. No m...

Re: how to measure in a Mesh file?

This way you get two independent meshes and it becomes much easier to select the internal triangles of them. I'm stuck at this point because I get 2 meshes but there are no visible triangles that I could select. If you want to measure radii of the model then you have to determine the actual geometr...

Re: how to measure in a Mesh file?

I used the Part create points object tool, then created a shapebinder to it, then mapped datum planes using the 3 points define a plane attachment mode, then sketches with links to external geometry to points on the shapebinder, pads, and a pocket at the end. Thank you! I watched your video and see...

Re: how to measure in a Mesh file?

The function that you tried to use is for the latter kind of meshes and thus doesn't work with your mesh. The function I meant is Reverse Engineering > Segmentation > From Components. Thanks. However, the workflow is still not clear to me. Iam still here: 1. opening the STL file 2. Reverse Engineer...

Re: how to measure in a Mesh file?

The very first step is to use segmentation function by component of the Reen wb. This way you get two parts. I fail even with this very first step. If I use the default values of the dialog: FreeCAD_oc5H0888M2.png I get no part at all. If I use the option "Smooth mesh", then I get 4 parts represent...

So, it's best not to document it now.
OK.
An easier trick might be to save the part model as STEP and manually change the unit in the file.
I failed to transform the STL to a STEP and I am not the creator of the model thus cannot do anything else than handle the mesh.
