Re: Machine speed gcode not generated correctly

Hi, How do I set that option - I can't find grbl-specific documentation on the wiki :( I was only using 1 tool for all 3 toolpaths, not 2 tools. What documentation there is about post processors says the following: MODAL (True = Allow, False = Suppress), Used to reduce the number of output G-Code li...

Re: Machine speed gcode not generated correctly

I looked at the GRBL site on Github. Speed does not appear to be in any of the modal groups.

Re: Machine speed gcode not generated correctly

Each file stops the spindle at the end. I run them manually. Even if they were run automatically with no intervention, not starting the spindle at the beginning of the 2nd and succeeding files is a problem. I have attached the files (after changing the extension - .nc files aren't visible :( ); the ...

Re: making finishing paths more efficient?

It's not so much the depth as avoiding entire areas. Consider milling a sign - the roughing cutter won't be able to cut between letters (and only roughly around those letters), and I want a finish pass to ONLY cut between letters and refine their shapes.

making finishing paths more efficient?

Hi all, I have a few projects in mind where I'd like to have a roughing pass with a largish cutter (up to 1/4") and then finish with a small cutter (around 1mm). As an experiment I put together a quick test where there was a large pocket in the model and then a couple of small blocks extruded from t...

Re: LinuxCNC question

Thanks for the info! Based on this, I think I'll stick with (most likely) a GRBL-based system. Since this is a hobby and - like everybody else - money is limited, the cost of a LinuxCNC based system seems to be a lot more than I'm interested in investing.

LinuxCNC question

Hi, I have a quick question - it appears that LinuxCNC requires a linux installation with the the real-time options to operate. Is this correct? How much horsepower would be required of the machine? I saw on the website that USB is not considered acceptable as communications. Am I correct in conclud...

Re: PathShape question

File v3 is more intricate - so much that I can't even delete the job to try and recreate it.
File v4 is very simple - and the engrave operation is empty. Edges were selected then the engrave operation selected.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
