ifc mapping

Is ifc4 import/export works in FreeCAD, as IfcOpenShell has support for ifc4.

Which files (in source code repository) maps FreeCAD data to IfcOpenShell?

Re: release numbering scheme

But this means we have to release 0.18 this year, too :) Let's try! November feature freeze, december release! Shifting from similar thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28062 To me, releasing once a year is fine. But it needed to be 2018 or 18, in-place of .18 Or there can be st...

Yes this is known. We are not all that good at marketing. ;)
Let us have good branding and packaging from this angle.

Version of FreeCAD

The latest version 0.17, gives an impression that software is in its initial development stage. But IMO, it is quite useful and do its work nicely. What is the concept behind such numbers for releases? When release 1.0 can be expected? As such release 0.9 (released in Jan 2016) looks better than 0.1...

Forgive my ignorance but what is DnW?
*EDIT* Oh right, sorry, you mean the name of the tool. Yeah, windows and doors might be better indeed.
Yes, I mean renaming of tool. I used "DnW" as short for Door and Windows, like PnP for Plug and Play.

Re: BIM Workbench

This is the windows manager. I'm not totally happy with it yet, but the idea would be to have a general idea of the windows contained in your model, be able group them by tag independently of which one is a clone of which other one, etc. "Window manager" looks confusing to me. Following are a few s...

Re: Geo Data and BIM

Yes, definitely. I have a couple of ideas to integrate some stuff from GeoData into BIM already, still need to write that down. But yes, the plan would be to allow to use the GeoData tools on site creation, or even after that. That's great. If you give me some pointers on how to do it, then I way t...

Geo Data and BIM

Does it make sense to have a site prepared using GeoData workbench having a few roads, buildings from Open Street Map, and then export it as ifc? I tried , but export failed. If it is required for "BIM eco system", then what need to do, so that it can be achieved? Do one need to work on Geo Data, or...
