Re: Patch for Qstring errors

No, its not good programmer practise to use const if you want to get information back! This parameter is destined to deliver information about the choosen unit BACK. That's why I said "if possible", obviously if you want to return a value it is not possible to use const. The code in its current sta...

Patch for Qstring errors

please apply the attached patch. Obvious programming tip: it is a good programming practice to use "const" whenever possible. Second tip: QString::toAscii is going to be deprecated, so we should replace it with QString::toLatin1 which is equivalent. I tried to push the patch but it seems that I don'...

Re: My arrangements for next year, starting from September

Welcome back to civilization Luke! I have followed almost every day of your adventure. 1300 km on a rickshaw, a big achievement anyway. My 2 years old daughter is also very happy watching your videos and photos, both the bathtube and the rickshaw ones.

Re: New "validate sketch" tool

That's only a matter of using a good tolerance. In the first approach it was set to 0.1 which appeared to be too high. Now it's set to 0.001 and this works much better.OpenCascade's internal tolerance is 1.e-7 but this is too strict. So, the one I chose seems to be a good balance. actually the tole...

Re: Efficient Use of Constraints?

You should prefer the horizontal distance constraint. It is more efficient.

Re: Sketches 1000 times slower in ubuntu than windows

or just replace FullPivLU with a faster version. The only reason for using FullPivLU was that it was supposed to be the most robust and it was extensively tested with many examples (before it was broken).

Re: Request for comments - constraint highlighting

highlighting looks fine, I don't know when I will have time to merge your contribution to the sketcher. Maybe someone else will be faster than me. In any case please be very careful not to introduce any bugs, test your code really hard until someone finds time to review and merge this.

Re: Request for comments - constraint highlighting

Almost two weeks and 0 responses! What am I doing wrong? show screenshots or screencasts! Btw. why should constraints be selected when you select edges? This complicates things with selection. I would just add a point "Info" to the right-click pop-up menu or something like this, but I wouldn't mess...

Re: Sketcher ideas

SparseQR was added in Eigen 3.2, no wonder I missed it before. Thats a bit of a problem, as this version is currently not distributed in the big linux distros. Nonetheless, I did some initial test comparing the rank computation, and it is pretty impresive: Old time: 1.25s New time: 0.09s Message: n...
