Re: create a compsolid out of two boxes

hi congrats. You did it. And still no working case that proves gmsh's mult-ibody limitations. Indeed calming for anybody put for .geo file hacking next. or: http://www.geuz.org/pipermail/gmsh/2016/010259.html and: http://gmsh.info/doc/texinfo/gmsh.html#Mesh-module Gmsh’s mesh module regroups several...

Re: create a compsolid out of two boxes

I just did built the solid the same way Werner did it. ... sphere... .... By the way the FEMMesh out of my cube-rocket-cube is not connected. It means it really should have the contact face only once ! Mhh it seams it is getting difficault to built these compsolids. 1) There are no problems as thes...

Re: create a compsolid out of two boxes

Hi, even though I see how a compsolid works, (thanks to the preposters and thanks to bernd for pursuing the question) do not understand the great advantage of a compsolid over a compound, yet. There is a check implied that the "links" of this compound have common faces? That all? I do not know what ...

Re: Postprocessing

Hi ickby, thanks for the work. maybe I am too lazy for learning git branch testing (did it once with one of bernds branches..), but I welcome (can not wait ;) ) to have it in master as sone as possible for learning to know it the first time and to have it (felt) more reliable for cases. Other tester...

Re: Run a function of an instantiated qt-macro from command line

Thanks go for it. ... checked works. Learned to get the qtobject by its name. It was missing a link. Thank you therefore a lot. As you see in the last example I had a method for changing the editbox-text inside the qt-window-class, which called from outside should work, but it did not. Have not test...

Re: Run a function of an instantiated qt-macro from command line

Thanks for the answer, suppose that you are in the init method of the class: def initUI(self): Here I can change, too. But in other place or times I can not. Am I right? How would be for example a call from the console: >>> t.le_cmd_line_opt_mesh.setText("hehe") >>> FreeCAD.myWidget.le_cmd_line_opt_...

Re: Run a function of an instantiated qt-macro from command line

This problem "change qt editbox contents" resulted difficult in the end: lets say I have got the gui of the above gmsh macro. There is an editbox: self.le_cmd_line_opt = QtGui.QLineEdit(self) I would like to change its contents, so I write a functions: def set_le_cmd_line_opt_mesh(self,line="5"): pr...

Re: FreeCAD on the web

it is out this genre http://ozlabs.org/~rusty/Stupidity.html nothing to worry about. (I never read it) https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeCAD/comments/3h7ocb/freecad_is_russian_propaganda_with_ties_to_the/ At the beginning I thought it's some kind of satire/humorous post. But apparently it isn't... Actual...

Re: New fan and willing to help

on architecture: yes, they call it workbenches, you could try to build one your own in cpp or python. Fc itself consists of cpp code, with python bindings, if you got lucky. Below is mainly the occ kernel and the coin visu kernel. Well saw already vtk implementations as well.. Like usual nowadays I ...

Re: New fan and willing to help

Hi, -I tried hard at a photo inlay tool, where geometrical objects are reconstructed by a photo. Lets say a house of a photo. Up to my knowledge there is no such tool in the free world. So if you got an overview about all those optical and software virtual levels where light passes or is supposed to...
