Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

When I said 'source code level' dependency, I am referring to this solution you proposed, where you effectively try to restore the SketchObject.Geometry property inside Sketcher module. What if PropertyGeometryList changes its storing format, which means that it will have its own way to handle some...

Well, you pinging me from a post in 2018 is hilarious !
My ping was from 2018 too :) . It was cadcam who dug this out.
Believe it or not, yesterday I had no notification for this thread. Today it appeared. Cadcam posted on September 2020...

Re: [Preliminary stage] SolverAid

If I forget about this, remind me in a couple of weeks or so. ;) I have a ToBeTracked-bookmark folder for those purposes. Well, you pinging me from a post in 2018 is hilarious ! So this is actually about the Block constraint, not about SolverAid. While I am thinking about how to leverage geometry e...

Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

Well, it can certainly work, but I don't quite like it. Because, the fact that any object has to use this way to override property restoring indicates that the property does not belong to the same module of the object, which in turn means it would create an unnecessary source code level dependency ...

Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

I think that the first think we need to agree is whether Ref, Id and flags are sketcher specific or general for any geometry and where the extensions should go. I wait for your input. Yes, by 'backward compatibility', I mean the files saved by my branch. Extension is a good way to decouple data nee...

Re: Bugs/Issues Blocking v0.19 Release (+ WB/Addon devs check-in about Roadmap for 0.19 release)

pinged by pinger macro @abdullah are there any blockers beside the ones mentioned in the OP that you can think of that would block 0.19 ? Ok. Let's switch on the machinery. The sketcher and GCS roadmaps are now empty for 0.19: https://tracker.freecadweb.org/roadmap_page.php If there is something th...

Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

BTW, do we have an estimated date for 0.19 release 0.20 cycle start? Don't know either. I am waiting too. Looks like the end of this 2020: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=50313&p=446415#p446415 When I click your link I get: "You are not authorised to read this forum." It is appare...

Re: Hole dialog discussion

Maybe simply changing the look of the point to being a cross, rather than adding an extra element type? Indeed, one might have a sketch with for example 5 points because one needs 5 holes arranged at the edges of a rectangle and one hole directly at the sketch origin. Then indeed it is impossible t...

Re: BSpline weight in information layer

And putting the weight text on the second line This what I was trying to achieve but a simple newline did not work. Now Abdullah implemented it using the second line of a label and this output was my initial plan. Thanks. Here is an additional small cleanup PR: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pu...

pinged by pinger macro @abdullah are there any blockers beside the ones mentioned in the OP that you can think of that would block 0.19 ? I do not think so. I work with the roadmap system of the bugtracker. I think we need to have a tentative release date (because we overshoot the one we had for 20...
