Re: Civil Engineering Design functions

I've been playing a bit with GRASS... The python interface is a bit unusual, but there are lots of possibilities there! And GRASS is totally part of QGIS now. There is also a good set of urban civil engineering python tools with Urban Data Science Toolkit and UrbanSim. http://www.udst.org https://g...

How on to create a face from a free shape?

If I design a free polygon shape in draft mode, how can I make a face from it?

Re: Civil Engineering Design functions

FreeCAD should also support to project WMF/WFS/WPS/TMS layers on a mesh to be able to get something like this:

Re: Civil Engineering Design functions

1. introduce typical file formats for the type of data you want to work with (I think you can reach this using GDAL/OGR ?). From my point of view and experience: For vector data: SHP (including access to attribute tables), DXF, DWG, DGN, KML For imagery: GeoTIFF , ECW, iTIFF, many more, but geotiff...

Re: Civil Engineering Design functions

FreeCAD will need to support SHP and GML which is an open ISO format. Re: FreeCAD move tool will not move the right line.

FreeCAD will move another line too Are you talking about a small shift of that vertical line that spans the whole height of the screen? That looks a bit strange. the constraint doesn't seem to work anymore I think, by saying "constraint", you mean "snapping". Constraints are in Sketcher. You are in...

Line will move alone while drawing

I have another bug again. Now whatever I do, I draw a line or anything else, it will displace the vertical line that is moving on these videos. Even if I draw a disconnect line anywhere else on the drawing. And the constraints tools doesn't to work anymore. https://www.dropbox.com/s/c6l5tn4hprdshqb/...
