Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

Here's a quick fix: ViewProviderSketch.cpp (line 714): case STATUS_SKETCH_DragCurve: if (edit->DragCurve != -1) { const Part::Geometry *geo = getSketchObject()->getGeometry(edit->DragCurve); if (geo->getTypeId() == Part::GeomLineSegment::getClassTypeId() || geo->getTypeId() == Part::GeomArcOfCircle:...

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

I believe that the problem with creation of internal geometry lies in some lines prealigned back-to-front. At least, I can easily reproduce it by the a-little-bit-hidden-now align to internal geometry button, like this: 1. create an ellipse and a line 2. select the line and the ellipse, hit Ctrl-A (...

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

in "src\Mod\Sketcher\App\freegcs\Constraints.cpp". I've added the parenthesis in my local files, but it doesn't make any difference :(

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

in internal alignment constraints:

Code: Select all

        case EllipseFocus2X:
            return scale * X_1 + X_F1 - 2*X_c;
missing parenthesis?

Re: Tractrix horn (no scripts)

I assume that the sound quality you are referring to is that of limited bass frequency response. Actually, not. Limited bass response was expected, I expected it to be a good tweeter from some 3000 Hz to some 20 kHz. But it is not. It sound like it has a resonance at ~3000 Hz. Actually (tested with...

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

Yeah, I agree that those polygonal ellipses look absolutely disgusting. Polygonal circles look OK, but ellipses are distorted in a very unpleasant way. Definitely worth some attention.

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

Very polygonal? I did a quick comparison to draft ellipse... Sketcher's are just a bit worse than draft's, but overall not much difference. Pretty controllable with deviation property. The polygonal problem may be because the ellipse is a part of a large sketch, with the deviation property setting t...

jmaustpc wrote:but with the above how would it know which way around the ellipse you want the arc to go between the start and finish points?
The same way a circle arc knows ;)

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

A bit off topic. I have verified ALL partials in constraints.cpp (Abdullah's testing branch, pulled ~3 hours back). Everything is fine (not a single error :D ) except for parallel and perpendicular constraints, which fail everything :roll: . This is probably caused by the weirdness with scale variab...

Re: Sketcher: Ellipse support

I have some progress on semi-automated constraint derivative testing routine. It's here: https://github.com/DeepSOIC/Derificator/commit/b68bb4c77e1bfb6730d46b41ad8fee66ad21adc9 My C++ is hopeless. It took me half a day to get it up and running. Anyway. It is a new public method "DoSelfTest" added to...
