Problem with installation

I wanted to make some tests of TechDraw FreeCAD, so I decided to compile it. Worst decision ever ;). Can you help me go through compilation process? First I opened Wiki: http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=CompileOnUnix Than downloaded all stuff like: "build-essential, cmake, python... li...

Re: Creating a cross section view in Drawing

@NormandC I would say more, if annyone could prepare that for normal users with a comment that can be not stable, that would be great. Mostly normal users use this great program, and those features would be really step forward. Is this possible? Or even instruction how to do it.

Re: Creating a cross section view in Drawing

I am digging up this topic. Will be something new in case of cross section and 2d drawings functionality?

I would also invite to help in this topic https://github.com/hamish2014/FreeCAD_d ... /issues/85 maybe someone could add some functionality to Hamish drawing dimensioning?

Re: Drawing dimensioning

Thanks for fast response ;) @r-frank yes this is some kind of solution - but unfortunatelly very time consuming :( @r.tec, I know that "drawing dimensioning" is addon, but still no option I've asked. All hope in hamish. Is there any way to request him those options? Do you know, will be more functio...

Re: setting assembly constraints for loose and interference fits

@emills2 I think kcleung had on mind that for example in Solid Works you have hole creator which have function of close fit or interference fit. For example, you have nominal bolt M12 and you create hole in "hole creator" M12 and you choose from dropdown menu loose fit/normal fit/interference fit an...

Re: setting assembly constraints for loose and interference fits

That is a good question. I know the newest Assembly2 have an option of axial mates. What is missing for sure is symetrical and tangential (example. box +cylinder (round side)), and most important for me to create mates which have angle and lenght constrains, that when I move part I can see whole ran...

Re: 0.16 Features We'd Like To See

@jmaustpc 1) the custom toolbox, works different than "s" menu in SW. It just create toolbox on bar on top of the window. I just would like to have fast toolbox menu under my cursor, there would be no need to do kilometers by mouse. Simply you press "s" button and menu appears near by the cursor htt...

Re: 0.16 Features We'd Like To See

Hi, I'll put two cents into discution. 1) Very usefull thing, which is in solidworks and what we could get into Freecad, is customizable fast menu, where you have all tools you need under one button. It works in SW that way: you press "s" button and small menu with icons (set by you) appears http://...
