Re: merge sketches

Thank you Abdullah !!!

I think many FreeCAD users will agree with me, that Sketcher lack of few other functions, especially offset function (it is one of the most used I think).

Re: Model hosting and one-click-upload

I am not interested in supporting closed model hosters. But feel free to do it yourself. I see, but for example GrabCAD (private, commercial website) have many visitors and your CAD files bring much attention (I think people upload files for this reason). It is good also for FreeCAD community, beca...

Re: Model hosting and one-click-upload

I know what you are trying to make (I have read it ;) ). Uploading to commercial sites (additionaly) I think would be also good as they have huge traffic (many visitors). Some of on-line functionalities ofcourse are always welcome, but I hope that FreeCAD will never be "FreeCAD 360" :) (I mean cloud...

Re: Freecad + CalculiX

I agree that CalculiX is the way to go. There are few other good opensource systems (ELMER, Z88,...), but CalculiX is - I think - the most popular of them and in the area of interest of many people. It is strong and mature package. However CGX is terrible to use, if FreeCAD could it replace in futur...

Re: Controlling FreeCAD from external app in C++ / C# -possi

Thanks for reply, I asked because I wanted to make one appplication for few CAD systems (Windows based only). Now I see it is rather hard and I decided to make two apps (Cross-platform one for FreeCAD + Windows based for the rest of CAD systems).

Re: Model hosting and one-click-upload

There are tools (add-ins) to upload CAD files to TracePartOnline or GrabCAD (from Solid Edge or KeyShot and other tools). It would be nice to have something similar in FreeCAD.

Re: Poor man`s 3d scanner

Impressive! You have used idea of coordinate-measuring machines (some kind of). Very cool! So this produces a point cloud? I'd be curious to know what would be the workflow in turning a point cloud into a shape. There are many commercial products for this purpose. Check Google for phrase "reverse en...

Re: Controlling FreeCAD from external app in C++ / C# -possi

I'm not sure, but take a look at console mode of freecad. AFAIK it is possible to launch FreeCAD without GUI and feed python commands via stdin/whatever. I think this is also good solution for me, if you or someone else know something more about it (how to so it) please share information.... The se...

Controlling FreeCAD from external app in C++ / C# -possible?

Hello everybody!! I want to make application that will control (drive) FreeCAD. I know about API, and that there is possibility with Python macros (a lot of them are here on forum and wiki). I am asking if it is possible to drive FreeCAD from my "external" application (in C++ or C#)?? I want to make...
