Re: Optical Workbench.

I'm hired to another company at this moment. That company does a lot with optica. I can tell you it is a bit more than that Most used term i hear around me is aberration(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_aberration) see: here for series of books they use here...: https://photonics.intec.ugent.b...

Re: Optical Workbench.

I don't think it is easy since there are specialised software tools for that... see for pricing here: https://www.zemax.com/pricing/opticstudio/individual-license On the other hand how cool would it be to have this in FC I was thinking that developing the "optical workbech" I mentioned was almost s...

Optical Workbench.

I was wondering if it would be very hard to implement a couple of tools for converting: Some objects (points, line segments, arcs of curves, pieces of planes or any other surfaces) into sources of light, Surfaces into mirrors ( and Three dimensional objects into refracting "prisms.", ) As I am imagi...

Re: Arbitrary cone

Both Part Loft and Part Sweep, can use a vertex/point as a profile, but there are limitations/complications. See the wiki for a detailed explanation. The point/vertex can be a Draft WB point but there is also a point in Part WB . Part_Loft particularly under the subtitle "Limitations and complicati...

Re: Arbitrary cone

Hi The answer is yes, except that a point is not recognized, it is necessary to create a mini circle (r = 0.01mm) Thanks a lot for your answer. These two ways of "cheating" loft tool (yours and that of chrisb ) work fine. The users have choices... meme2704 is wrong, you can use a point. the wiki ex...

Create the Point in Draft workbench and use Part->Loft. In PartDesign I recommend to create instead of the point an ever so tiny copy of the base sketch for lofting.
Excelent!
Using that "non dimensionless point" :D of Draft Workbech did the job i was looking for.
Thanks a lot.

[Solved] Arbitrary cone

Good morning.
Suppose we have the face F of an arbitrary form belonging to some arbitrary object and a point P in space.
Is there any way of building a "cone" whose base being F and its vertex at P?

Assembly3: Help reusing object class.

Good morning. Could anybody give me some hints for doing the following? Suppose an object o , of certain class c depending on n parameters, p1, p2,... , is located in file f Suppose an assembly consisting on m objects, o1,o2,.. ., of class c is done in file a . Suppose o1, o2,... are almost the same...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Excellent WB.
I noted the following detail:
When using Assembly3 WB from file f, and links to several objects in different files are made, then
if "Import all links" is made and file f is closed and then it is reopened, all links but the first one get broken .
Regards.
