Re: Axonometric view. Why this octant of the space?

https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases The mavicube is not part of official FreeCAD version yet... If so, is there any link for downloading a binary of that FreeCAD version, or it has to be compiled? It's not in 0.17, it's in development version 0.18. Binaries here: https://github.com/FreeCAD/...

Re: Part design sketch plane correct order: XY, YZ, ZX

Not this again. All CAD programs, and I mean ALL use the XY, XZ and YZ denominations. It is not question of denominations, it is question of the effect of using some kind of "levogyre" coordinate system when extruding... By the way, sometimes paradigms could be revised and adjusted if needed...

Click a corner of navigation cube to get into any axo view you want.

If memory serves me correct, it's some standard. And it's not a universal standard.
I am sorry, but what is it called "navigation cube"?

Re: Part design sketch plane correct order: XY, YZ, ZX

Now if we change to ZX, the sketch would end up in a very unnatural orientation. Well... "very unnatural orientation"... It is question of opinions (in my opinion :) ) I have to put on a balance "unnatural orientation" and and "extruding to a negative axis orientation"... It would be good to have t...

... your proposal replaces this minor inconvenience with a major inconvenience...
Are you referring to the work of recoding or to any other mayor inconvenience?

Axonometric view. Why this octant of the space?

Just wondering...
In FreeCAD, when setting axonometric view, one "sees" the fourth octant of the space (+X, -Y, +Z axes). Wouldn't it be more comfortable to see the first octant (+X, +Y, +Z axes) instead of that?

Hi,
Just wondering if the topic

Re: Part design sketch plane correct order: XY, YZ, ZX

current names are consistent with the way sketch axes are mapped to body/model axes. XY: H_axis = X, V_axis = Y XZ: H_axis = X, V_axis = Z YZ: H_axis = Y, V_axis = Z Now if we change to ZX, the sketch would end up in a very unnatural orientation. Renaming them just for sake of math doesn't help, IM...

I agree...
But I think this way FreeCAD would gain (a little of) math robutness...
